First Corinthians

Hasten to love, and desire the spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesying.

The person who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to people, but to Allah, because no one understands him. He speaks mysteries of Ruh Allah.

But the person who prophesies speaks to people with words that strengthen them, encourage them, and comfort them.

The person who speaks in an unknown tongue strengthens himself, but the person who expounds the truth strengthens the jama'a of chosen people.

I want you all to speak in an unknown tongue, but more than that I want you to prophesy. The person who prophesies is better than the person who speaks in an unknown tongue, except if his words are interpreted, and by them the jama'a of chosen people is strengthened.

Brothers, if I came to you speaking in unknown tongues, you would not benefit at all unless I spoke to you by announcing either the mystery of Allah, knowledge, a prophecy, or teaching.

It is like sound-producing instruments. They have no life in them. If the sound of the flute or guitar is unclear, how will people know the tune played on them?

If the sound of a war bugle is unclear, who will get ready for battle?

Thus, if the words of your tongue are unclear, who will understand the meaning? You are like someone who speaks to the air.

There are many different languages in the world, and all of them have meaning.

But if I do not understand the language, I am a stranger to the person who speaks it, and he is a stranger to me.

As you are zealous to expound Al-Ruh, seek to excel in it, so that the jama'a of chosen people will be strengthened.

The person who speaks in an unknown tongue must pray a dua' to Allah for the gift of interpreting it.

If I pray a dua' to Allah in an unknown tongue, my spirit is what is praying dua', but my mind does not benefit.

What then? I will pray dua' with my spirit and also with my mind. I will praise Allah and sing with my spirit and also with my mind.

If you praise Allah with your spirit, how can a person with little knowledge agree with your thanksgiving and say "Amen" if he does not understand what you are saying?

Your praise was good in this case, but the other person was not strengthened.

Alhamdulillah that I speak in unknown tongues more than all of you.

But among the jama'a of chosen people, I prefer to speak five words with my mind, so that I can teach other people, than to speak ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Brothers, do not be like children in your thinking. Be children in evil, but mature adults in your thinking.

It is written in the kitab of Allah: "I will speak to this people by the strange tongues of a people and by the lips of strangers. Despite this, they will not hear me." God has spoken.

So tongues are a miracle, not for believers but for unbelievers, and prophesying is a miracle not for unbelievers but for believers.

If the whole jama'a of chosen people meets, and you all speak in unknown tongues, and people with little knowledge or an unbeliever comes in, will they not say that you are crazy?

But if all of you prophesy and an unbeliever or person with little knowledge comes in among you, he will receive from everyone convincing words and rebuke of his conscience.

The secrets of his heart will be exposed and he will fall down prostrate and worship Allah. He will testify that Allah is really present among you.

What then, brothers? When you meet, let everyone present an anthem of praise, a teaching, s prophecy, a tongue or an interpretation. Let the goal of everything be strengthening.

If you speak in tongues, let the number of speakers be no more than two or three, one at a time. Then one of you must interpret it.

In case there is no interpreter, let the speaker be silent among the jama'a, and instead, let him speak to himself and to Allah.

Let two or three prophesy who have the gift of prophecy, and let the others evaluate their speeches.

If Allah inspires an announcement to someone who is sitting, let the one who was talking be silent.

You can all prophesy one after another, so that everyone can be taught and encouraged.

The spirits of those who have the gift of prophecy are subject to those who prophesy.

Allah is not the Rabb of chaos, but rather the Rabb of peace. As it is appropriate for women believers in all the jama'as of holy people,

let women be silent in your meetings, since their talking is not allowed in your jama'as. Rather, let them be submissive, as it is written in the sharia of the Tawrat.

If they have questions, let them ask their husbands in their homes. Women talking in the midst of the jama'a is a shame.

Do you think that you are the starting point of the word of Allah? Are you its only ending point?

If anyone thinks that he has the gift of prophecy, or has a spiritual ability, let him be sure that what I am writing to you is a command of our mawla.

If anyone ignores my words, he will be ignored.

So, brothers, desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

Everything has its proper method and organization.
