« Chapter 6 »

If any one of you has a complaint against his brother believer, should he dare to take him to court in front of the wicked, instead of in front of holy believers?
إِنْ كَانَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ شَكْوَى ضِدَّ أَخِيهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ هَلْ يَجْرُؤُ أَنْ يُقَاضِيَهُ أَمَامَ الظَّالِمِينَ لَا أَمَامَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْمُقَدَّسِينَ؟

Do you not know that the holy people are those who will condemn the universe? If you will condemn the universe, are you not qualified to judge simple cases?
أَفَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ الْمُقَدَّسِينَ هُمُ الَّذِينَ سَيَحْكُمُونَ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ؟ وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ سَتَحْكُمُونَ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ، أَلَسْتُمْ مُؤَهَّلِينَ لِلْحُكْمِ فِي الْقَضَايَا الْبَسِيطَةِ؟

Do you not know that we will judge the angels? How much more matters of this world!
أَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّنَا سَنَحْكُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ؟ فَبِالْأَحْرَى أُمُورَ هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا!

If you have a complaint, do you go to court in front of those who have no business in the jama'a?
فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ شَكَاوٍ، هَلْ تَتَحَاكَمُونَ أَمَامَ الَّذِينَ لَا شَأْنَ لَهُمْ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ؟

In this saying of mine, I have exposed your shame. Is there not one wise person among you who is able to judge in brotherly matters?
بِقَوْلِي هَذَا قَدْ كَشَفْتُ عَارَكُمْ: أَلَيْسَ بَيْنَكُمْ حَكِيمٌ وَاحِدٌ قَادِرٌ عَلَى الْقَضَاءِ بِأُمُورِ إِخْوَتِهِ؟

Foundationally, taking each other to court falls into the category of total failure among you. Is it not better to be patient when you are unjustly treated? Is it not better to be patient when you are robbed?
فَأَصْلًا، مُقَاضَاةُ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًا فِي الْمَحَاكِمِ عُنْوَانُ فَشَلٍ كَامِلٍ فِيكُمْ. أَلَيْسَ مِنَ الْأَفْضَلِ أَنْ تَصْبِرُوا عَلَى الظُّلْمِ؟ أَلَيْسَ مِنَ الْأَفْضَلِ أَنْ تَصْبِرُوا عَلَى السَّلْبِ؟

But you are unjust to and rob even your own brothers!
وَلَكِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمْ تَظْلِمُونَ وَتَسْلُبُونَ حَتَّى إِخْوَتَكُمْ!

Do you not know that the unjust have no portion in the kingdom of Allah? Do not be misled! Neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor passive nor active homosexual partners,
أَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ نَصِيبٌ فِي مَلَكُوتِ اللهِ؟ لَا تُضَلَّلُوا! فَلَيْسَ لِلْفُجَّارِ وَلَا عَبَدَةِ الْأَصْنَامِ وَلَا الزُّنَاةِ وَلَا الْمُخَنَّثِينَ وَلَا الشَّاذِّينَ جِنْسِيًّا

nor thieves, nor the envious, nor drunkards, nor those who swear, nor cheaters -- none of these have a portion in the kingdom of Allah.
وَلَا السَّارِقِينَ وَلَا الْحَاسِدِينَ وَلَا السُّكَارَى وَلَا السَّبَّابِينَ وَلَا النَّصَّابِينَ، لَيْسَ لِهَؤُلَاءِ نَصِيبٌ فِي مَلَكُوتِ اللهِ.

Some of you had been among those, but you were washed, purified and made holy. Allah gave you righteousness in the name of our mawla Isa Al-Masih, and in Al-Ruh from our Rabb.
كَانَ بَعْضُكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ هَؤُلَاءِ، لَكِنَّكُمُ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ وَتَطَهَّرْتُمْ مُقَدَّسِينَ وَوَهَبَكُمُ اللهُ الصَّلَاحَ بِاسْمِ مَوْلَانَا عِيسَى الْمَسِيحِ وَبِرُوحِ رَبِّنَا.

Everything is halal to me, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is halal to me, but nothing will make me a slave.
كُلُّ شَيْءٍ حَلَالٌ لِي، لَكِنْ لَيْسَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مُفِيدًا. كُلُّ شَيْءٍ حَلَالٌ لِي، لَكِنْ لَنْ يَسْتَعْبِدَنِي شَيْءٌ.

Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, and Allah will destroy both of them. But the body is not for immorality but for our mawla Isa, and our mawla Isa is for the body.
اَلطَّعَامُ لِلْبَطْنِ، وَالْبَطْنُ لِلطَّعَامِ، وَسَيُهْلِكُ اللهُ كِلَيْهِمَا. لَكِنَّ الْجَسَدَ لَيْسَ لِلْفُجُورِ بَلْ لِمَوْلَانَا عِيسَى، وَمَوْلَانَا عِيسَى لِلْجَسَدِ

As Allah resurrected our mawla Isa alive, he will resurrect us alive by his power.
وَكَمَا بَعَثَ اللهُ مَوْلَانَا عِيسَى حَيًّا، سَيَبْعَثُنَا أَحْيَاءً بِقُدْرَتِهِ.

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Al-Masih? Shall I make members of Al-Masih into members of a prostitute? May Allah not permit it!
أَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ أَجْسَادَكُمْ أَعْضَاءٌ لِلْمَسِيحِ؟ هَلْ أَجْعَلُ مِنْ أَعْضَاءِ الْمَسِيحِ أَعْضَاءً لِبَغِيٍّ؟ لَا سَمَحَ اللهُ!

أَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ مَنِ اتَّحَدَ بِالْجِمَاعِ مَعَ الْبَغِيِّ أَصْبَحَ وَإِيَّاهَا جَسَدًا وَاحِدًا؟ كَمَا قَالَ اللهُ: «يُصْبِحُ الِاثْنَانِ جَسَدًا وَاحِدًا.»

Whoever is united with our mawla Isa has become one spirit with him.
وَمَنِ اتَّحَدَ مَعَ مَوْلَانَا عِيسَى قَدْ أَصْبَحَ وَإِيَّاهُ رُوحًا وَاحِدَةً.

Flee from sexual immorality. Every sin a person commits is outside his body. But the sexually immoral person harms his own body.
اُهْرُبُوا مِنَ الْفُجُورِ، إِذْ كُلُّ ذَنْبٍ يَرْتَكِبُهُ الْمَرْءُ هُوَ خَارِجَ جَسَدِهِ، لَكِنَّ الْفَاجِرَ يُسِيءُ إِلَى جَسَدِهِ.

Do you not know that your bodies are a temple of holy Ruh Allah who dwells in your hearts from Allah, and that you do not own yourselves?
أَلَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ أَجْسَادَكُمْ مَعْبَدُ رُوحِ اللهِ الْقُدُّوسِ الْمُنْزَلِ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ مِنَ اللهِ، وَأَنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ مُلْكًا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ؟
