First John

«   Chapter 4   »

1
Beloved ones, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from Allah or not. Many deceivers who prophesy have gone out into this world.
2
By this you will know Ruh Allah: Every Ruh from Allah confesses that Isa Al-Masih has come to this world as a human with a body.
3
But every spirit that does not confess Isa is not from Allah. It is from Al-Masih Al-Dajjal, whom you have heard that he is coming, and here he is, present in this world.
4
My children, you are from Allah and you have conquered them, because the one dwelling in you is greater than the one dwelling in this world.
5
They are of this world, so they speak the words of this world, and the people of this world hear them.
6
We are from Allah, and the person who knows Allah hears us. But the person who is not from Allah does not hear us. By this we know the Ruh of truth and the spirit of error.
7
Beloved ones, let us love each other, since love is from Allah. Everyone who loves has been born spiritually from Allah and knows Allah.
8
The person who does not love does not know Allah, because Allah is love.
9
By this Allah has made his love clear in us: He sent his unique, beloved Amir to this world so that we could live through him.
10
Love is manifested in this, not because we loved Allah, but because he loved us and sent his beloved Amir as an expiation for our sins.
11
Beloved ones, since Allah has loved us so much, we must also love each other.
12
No human has ever seen Allah, but if we love each other, Allah remains in us and his love is perfectly manifested in us.
13
By this we will be sure that we remain firmly in him and he in us: He has given us some of his Ruh.
14
We have seen and testify that Al-Rahman has sent his beloved Amir as rescuer of the universe.
15
Whoever testifies that Isa is the beloved Amir remains in Allah and Allah remains in him.
16
We have known the love of Allah for us and have trusted in it. Allah is Al-Wadud Al-Muhibb and he is love. Everyone who remains in love remains also in Allah and Allah in him.
17
In this, love is completed among us, so that we can be confident on Yawm Al-Din. We are like Isa in this world.
18
There is no fear in love. Perfect love expels fear outside. Fear is connected with punishment, and love has not been perfected in the person who fears.
19
We love because he loves us first.
20
If anyone says: "I love Allah" and he hates his brother, he is a liar, because the person who does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love Allah whom he has not seen.
21
This is his commandment, that the person who loves Allah should love his brother also.
