First Peter

«   Chapter 4   »

1
Al-Masih suffered pains in his body as a ransom for you, so you likewise must take up arms with the same resolve. Whoever suffers in the body has gotten rid of sins.
2
Then he will live the remaining part of his life according to the will of Allah and not according to human passions.
3
The deeds of the kuffar that you have already committed in your life are enough. They are adultery, passions, drunkenness, profligacy, contentiousness, and worshiping detestable idols.
4
The kuffar are amazed that you are not carried along with them in the path of their immorality, and they insult you.
5
But soon they will give an account before the judge of the living and the dead.
6
For this reason, the dead were also given good news despite the human sentence of death on their bodies, so that they could live a spiritual life for Allah.
7
The end of everything has approached, so be sensible and be alert for dua' prayer.
8
Above everything, strive to love each other, for love covers many bad deeds.
9
Be hospitable to each other without complaining.
10
Allah has given each one of you a spiritual gift, so serve one another with it as good stewards of the varied grace of Allah.
11
If someone's gift is speaking, let him speak as if he is speaking the words of Allah. If it is the gift of serving, let him serve with the strength of Allah. In this way, the splendor of the glory of Allah will be shown in everything through Isa Al-Masih, the one with glory and kingship forever and ever. Amen.
12
Beloved, do not be amazed at the flame of trials that has happened to you, as if the matter were a strange surprise.
13
But rejoice at your sharing in the sufferings of Al-Masih, so that you may also rejoice in delight when the splendor of his glory appears.
14
You will have baraka if you are insulted because of your belonging to Al-Masih, because the Ruh of glory, Ruh Allah, rests as his presence on you.
15
Let none of you commit murder, stealing, any other crime, or interfere in another person's business, and so suffer punishment for what he has done.
16
But if he suffers punishment because of his belonging to Al-Masih, let him praise Allah Al-Majeed by this name and not be ashamed.
17
The hour of rendering account to Allah for his family has come. If the accounting begins with us, what do you think the destiny of the person who disobeys the good news will be with Allah?
18
Allah has said, "If the righteous and reverent person is barely saved from the fire, what will the destiny of disbelievers and sinners?"
19
So let those who suffer persecution by the will of Allah surrender their souls to Al-Khaliq Al-Amin and continue to walk on the straight path.
