First Thessalonians
« Chapter 4 »
1
Finally, brothers, so that you can honor our mawla Isa, we ask you and urge you to walk like we taught you. This is the way in which Allah has rida. You are doing this, but do it more.
2
You know the commands we taught you in the name of our mawla Isa.
3
The will of Allah is for you to be pure, to be made holy, and to avoid immorality.
4
Each of you should control his body and be tahir and honorable.
5
Do not be controlled by passions like the polytheistic nations of kuffar.
7
Allah did not call you to uncleanness but to be tahir in holiness.
8
Whoever turns away from these teachings does not turn away from people. He turns away from Allah, who gives his holy Ruh to you.
9
But about your love for the believing brothers, you do not need written commandments from anyone. Allah taught you to love each other.
11
Be careful to be calm, to be concerned with your personal matters, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.
12
Then your life will be appropriate and honorable before people in this world, and you will not lack anything.
13
Brothers, I do not want you to be jahil of the fate of people whom Allah has caused to die. Then you would be like other people who have no hope.
14
We believe that Isa died and was resurrected alive. We believe also that Allah will raise up to himself, along with Isa, the people he caused to die while they were trusting in Isa.
15
We tell you what our mawla said, that we who remain alive until the coming of our mawla will not precede those who have passed away.
16
Our mawla himself will come down from the heavens. He will come at the shout of the commandment of Allah, the call of the chief angel, and the blowing of the trumpet of Allah. Then the dead people who belong to Al-Masih will be resurrected first.
17
Then he will raise us living people who remain along with them to meet our mawla in the sky. And we will remain with him forever.
18
So encourage each other with these words.
