First Timothy

  Chapter 1   »

1
From Paul, a messenger of Al-Masih Isa by the command of Allah, our victorious rescuer, and of Al-Masih Isa, our certain hope.
2
To Timothy, my sincere son in faith: Grace, mercy and peace be upon you from Allah Al-Malik Al-Rahman, and from Al-Masih Isa our mawla:
3
I urged you to remain in Ephesus while I was going to Macedonia. Then you can command some people to stop spreading heresies.
4
Also command them not to be busy with myths and endless genealogies. They stir up arguments. They are not suitable for the arrangement of Allah, which is based on trust.
5
But the purpose of our command is love that comes from a pure heart, a righteous conscience, and a sincere trust.
6
Some people have gone astray from this path and have adopted empty words.
7
They want to have the privilege of being teachers of the law of the Tawrat, but they do not understand what they say and make statements about.
8
We know that the sharia is righteous if it is used righteously.
9
We also know that the sharia was not for the righteous. It is for disobedient rebels, sinful unbelievers, unclean people who dishonor sacred things, murderers of their fathers and mothers, people who shed blood,
10
immoral and abnormal people, kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and opponents of sound teaching.
11
That teaching is consistent with the glorious good news, the good news of blessed Allah, who entrusted it to me.
12
I am grateful to Al-Masih Isa our mawla, who aided me with strength, because he considered me faithful and made me his servant.
13
This happened despite my insulting him, persecuting him, and arrogantly opposing him in the past. But he was merciful to me because I was jahil in my unbelief.
14
And Allah poured out the grace of our mawla generously upon me, in trust and love that come from belonging to Al-Masih Isa.
15
This statement is true and worth being completely accepted: Al-Masih Isa came into this world to save sinners. And I am the greatest sinner.
16
But Allah only blessed me with his mercy, as the greatest of sinners, in order for Isa Al-Masih to show his complete patience as an example for those who would trust him, so that they would receive eternal spiritual life.
17
Alhamdullah to the Al-Malik Al-Qayyum, Al-Baqi Al-Batin Al-Ahad, Dhu Al-Jalal wa Al-Ikram forever and ever. Amen.
18
So, my son Timothy, I entrust that command to you. Then you will struggle in the good struggle according to the previous prophecies about you.
19
But you must trust in Allah and be adorned with a righteous conscience. People who ignore their consciences have crashed the ship of their faith.
20
Two of those are Hymenaus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to the torment of Al-Shaitan so that they would learn not to disbelieve.
