Second Corinthians

  Chapter 1   »

1
From Paul, a messenger of Al-Masih Isa according to the will of Allah, and Timothy our brother, to the jama'a of the chosen people of Allah in the city of Corinth, and all the holy believers in the province of Achaia:
2
Grace and peace be upon you from our Rabb Al-Malik Al-Rahman, and from our mawla Isa Al-Masih:
3
Blessed is Al-Malik Al-Wadud, the Rabb of our mawla Isa Al-Masih! He is Al-Malik Al-Rahman Al-Ra'ouf and the Rabb of all comfort.
4
He comforts us in all our suffering so that we can comfort everyone who goes through suffering with the comfort of Allah to us.
5
The pains of Al-Masih overflow in us, and likewise our comfort overflows in you through Al-Masih.
6
If we go through hardship, it is for your comfort and your salvation. If we receive comfort, it is for your comfort, which is effective in your patience with those pains that we also go through.
7
Our hope for you is firm, since we know that as you have shared in pains, you will share in comfort also.
8
Believing brothers, we do not want you to be jahil about the hardship that hit us in the province of Asia Minor. There was a difficult weight on us, beyond our ability, so that we despaired of life itself.
9
More than that, we felt that we had been condemned to be executed. This is what made us not trust in ourselves, but in Allah, Al-Baith of the dead.
10
He is the one who rescued us from that fearsome death and he will rescue us from it. We have a sure hope in him that he will rescue us in the future.
11
Provided that you help us in dua' to support us, so that many will praise and thank Allah for us because of the grace that was given to us in answer to the dua' of many people.
12
Our boast is in the shahada of our consciences toward our pure, sincere, and reverent behavior toward this world in general and toward you in particular, not with worldly wisdom but with grace from Allah.
13
We are only writing to you clear, understandable words. My hope is that you will completely understand
14
what you have understood from us partially. We are the reason for your boasting just as you are the reason for our boasting on the day of the coming of our mawla Isa.
15
Since I am confident in this matter, I have decided to visit you first, so that you will get the baraka twice.
16
I will visit you as I am going to Macedonia, and then visit you on my return from there, so that you can make my travel to the province of Al-Quds easier.
17
Did I behave with hesitation in my decision? Did I decide on this plan in a human manner? Did I want to answer Yes and No at the same time?
18
Allah Al-Amin is witness that our words to you are not "Yes" and "No."
19
For the beloved Amir of Allah, Al-Masih Isa, whom we (Silvanus, Timothy and I) announced to you, was not "Yes" and "No." Rather, he is "Yes" from Allah since eternity past.
20
He is the "Yes" to every promise of Allah. So through him we say "Amen" for the honor of the splendor of Allah Al-Majeed.
21
Allah is the one who makes us firm with you in belonging to Al-Masih, and he is the one who appointed us.
22
He put his seal on us and sent down his Ruh as a down payment in our hearts.
23
Allah witnesses to me that I only came to Corinth out of pity on you.
24
We have no compulsion in your faith, but we work with you for your happiness. Because of your faith, you are trusting and standing firm.
