Second Corinthians
« Chapter 6 »
1
Since we work by the command of Allah, we urge you not to accept the grace of Allah in vain.
وَإِذْ نَعْمَلُ بِأَمْرِ اللهِ، نُنَاشِدُكُمْ أَلَّا تَقْبَلُوا فَضْلَ اللهِ عَبَثًا،

فَقَدْ قَالَ اللهُ: «فِي وَقْتِ الرِّضَا سَمِعْتُكَ وَفِي يَوْمِ النَّجَاةِ أَعَنْتُكَ.» وَالوَقْتُ الْآنَ هُوَ وَقْتُ الرِّضَا وَالْيَوْمُ الْآنَ هُوَ يَوْمُ النَّجَاةِ!

We will not be an obstacle to anyone in anything, so that our service would not be blamed.
لَا نَكُونُ عَثْرَةً لِأَحَدٍ فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ، لِئَلَّا تُلَامَ خِدْمَتُنَا،

But we present ourselves as servants of Allah in everything: by much patience, suffering, deprivation, hardship;
بَلْ نَعْرِضُ أَنْفُسَنَا خُدَّامًا لِلهِ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، بِالصَّبْرِ الْكَثِيرِ وَالْمُعَانَاةِ وَالْحِرْمَانِ وَالضِّيقِ

whipping, prison, disaster, tiredness, sleeplessness, fasting;
وَالْجَلْدِ وَالسَّجْنِ وَالِاضْطِرَابِ وَالتَّعَبِ وَالسَّهَرِ وَالصِّيَامِ

purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, holy Ruh Allah, sincere love;
وَالطَّهَارَةِ وَالْمَعْرِفَةِ وَطُولِ الْأَنَاةِ وَاللُّطْفِ وَرُوحِ اللهِ الْقُدُّوسِ وَالْمَحَبَّةِ الْمُخْلِصَةِ

by honor and shame, blood and commendation. People consider us: deceptive, though we are sincere;
وَبِالْكَرَامَةِ وَالْمَهَانَةِ، وَالذَّمِّ وَالْمَدْحِ، يَعْتَبِرُنَا النَّاسُ مُخَادِعِينَ وَنَحْنُ صَادِقُونَ،

ignored, though we are well-known; dead, though we are alive; punished, without dying;
مَجْهُولِينَ وَنَحْنُ مَعْرُوفُونَ، مَوْتَى وَنَحْنُ أَحْيَاءٌ، تَحْتَ الْعِقَابِ دُونَ أَنْ نَمُوتَ،

sad, though we are always joyful; poor, though we make many people rich; as if we have nothing, though we own everything.
حَزَانَى وَنَحْنُ دَائِمًا فَرِحُونَ، فُقَرَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُغْنِي الْكَثِيرِينَ، كَأَنَّ لَا شَيْءَ لَنَا، وَنَحْنُ نَمْلِكُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ.

Corinthians, honestly, we opened our mouths to you. We opened our hearts wide.
أَيُّهَا الْكُورِنْثِيُّونَ، فَتَحْنَا لَكُمْ بِصَرَاحَةٍ أَفْوَاهَنَا وَبِرَحَابَةٍ قُلُوبَنَا،

We are not bound up in our emotions toward you, but you are bound up in your emotions toward us.
لَسْنَا مُقَيَّدِي الْعَوَاطِفِ تُجَاهَكُمْ، لَكِنَّكُمْ مُقَيَّدُو الْعَوَاطِفِ تُجَاهَنَا،

I ask you as if you were my children to treat us as we treat you. Open your hearts to us also!
أَطْلُبُ مِنْكُمْ كَمَا لَوْ كُنْتُمْ أَوْلَادِي أَنْ تُعَامِلُونَا كَمَا نُعَامِلُكُمْ: اِجْعَلُوا قُلُوبَكُمْ رَحْبَةً لَنَا أَيْضًا!

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. What connection is there between righteousness and disobedience? What is the relationship between light and darkness?
لَا تَقْتَرِنُوا مَعَ غَيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي نِيرٍ وَاحِدٍ. مَا الصِّلَةُ بَيْنَ الِاسْتِقَامَةِ وَالْعِصْيَانِ؟ وَمَا الْعَلَاقَةُ بَيْنَ النُّورِ وَالظَّلَامِ؟

What is the alliance between Al-Masih and Al-Shaitan? What common portion is there between the believer and the disbeliever?
وَمَا الْحِلْفُ بَيْنَ الْمَسِيحِ وَالشَّيْطَانِ؟ وَمَا النَّصِيبُ الْمُشْتَرَكُ بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَالْكَافِرِ؟

وَمَا الِانْسِجَامُ بَيْنَ مَعْبَدِ اللهِ وَالْأَصْنَامِ؟ نَحْنُ مَعْبَدُ اللهِ الْحَيِّ، كَمَا قَالَ اللهُ: «سَوْفَ يَكُونُ مَسْكَنِي بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسِيرُ فِي وَسَطِهِمْ وَسَأَكُونُ رَبًّا لَهُمْ وَسَيَكُونُونَ أُمَّةً لِي.»
