Second Peter

  Chapter 1   »

1
From Simon Peter, a slave of Isa Al-Masih and his hawari, to those who have received, like us, precious faith on the basis of the righteousness of Isa Al-Masih, our mawla and rescuer.
2
Abundant peace and much grace of Allah be upon you in the knowledge of Allah and our mawla Isa.
3
Al-Qadeer Al-Razzaq has given us everything regarding life and reverence through the knowledge of Allah, who called us to his splendor and power.
4
By them, he gave us great, precious promises, so that by them you could get a portion of the divine nature after you were saved from the corruption of this world, which was caused by passions.
5
For this reason, strive to add virtue to your faith, knowledge to virtue,
6
self-control to knowledge, patience to self-control, reverence to patience,
7
brotherly friendship to reverence, and love to brotherly friendship.
8
Do this so that, when these qualities are in you and multiply, you will prosper and be fruitful in the knowledge of our mawla Isa Al-Masih.
9
Whoever lacks these qualities is blind and nearsighted. He has forgotten his purification from previous sins.
10
Instead, brother believers, strive to be firmly rooted in the call of Allah and in his choice of you by your righteous deeds, because if you do this, you will never slip.
11
Rather, you will honorably enter the everlasting kingdom, the kingdom of our mawla Isa Al-Masih, the rescuer, victor, and ransomer.
12
I am always ready to remind you of these things, even though you know them and have been firmly rooted in the truth that you have trusted in.
13
As long as I am in this tent of my body, I think it is best to alert you with this reminder from your being unaware.
14
I know that I will take off the tent of my body soon, as our mawla Isa Al-Masih revealed to me.
15
I will make an effort to arrange a means by which you can always remember these truths after my departure.
16
We did not follow deceitful human myths when we informed you of the power and coming of our mawla Isa Al-Masih. Rather, we were eyewitnesses of his splendor.
17
Allah Al-Malik Al-Rahman Al-Majeed spoke to Isa, honored him and glorified him, saying: "This is my beloved Amir. I have rida in him."
18
We heard this voice from heaven, since we were with him and the holy mountain.
19
We have the more certain prophetic word. It is like a shining lamp in a dark place. It is worth your paying attention to it until the day dawns and the light of Al-Masih Isa rises like the morning star in your hearts.
20
Know first that no prophecy in the kitab comes from the imagination of a nabi.
21
No prophecy issues from the will of a person. Rather, the holy anbiya spoke the words of Allah by inspiration from Ruh Allah Al-Quddus.
