Second Peter
« Chapter 2 »
1
Deceivers stood up among the people of Allah in ancient times and prophesied. And deceivers will stand up among you also. They will sneak into your jama'as, teach their destructive kufr, and even deny the master who ransomed them with his blood. Thus they will quickly be destroyed.
2
Many will follow their immorality, and because of them people will disbelieve in the path of truth.
4
Allah did not pardon the rebellious angels. Rather, he threw them into Al-Jahim and chained them in the lower darkness. They have been kept imprisoned there until Yawm Al-Din.
5
He also did not pardon the ancient world in the days of Nuh. Rather, he destroyed the whole world of sinners with the flood. He saved eight people including Nuh, who was a warner of righteousness.
7
He rescued Lut, that righteous man, who was tortured in his soul by the sinfulness of the immoral people.
8
He saw their disobedience and heard their kufr, and his reverent soul was tortured by living among them day after day.
9
Therefore, Allah knows best how to rescue the reverent from trials and how to detain the guilty for the punishment of Yawm Al-Din.
10
This is especially true for people who soak themselves in corrupt human passions and rebel boldly against authority. They do not even fear glorious angels. Rather, they insult them.
11
Angels are stronger and have more authority than they do, but angels do not direct insulting criticism against them in front of Rabb Al-Alamin.
12
Those wicked people are like unthinking, instinctive wild animals. They are hunted and die, since they insult what they are ignorant about. Therefore, they will be destroyed with them.
13
They will have painful torture as the punishment of the wicked. They take pleasure in satisfying their passions even in the daytime. They are filthy and blemishes boasting in their pleasures and deception while they join you in your banquets.
15
They have turned back from the straight path and gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam son of Basur, who loved money from doing haraam.
17
They are like springs without water and clouds pushed by strong winds. Their destiny is to be in absolute darkness forever.
18
By their worthless, proud words, human passions and immorality, they entice those who were almost saved from people who have gone astray.
19
They promise them freedom even though they are slaves of corruption, since a person is a slave to what he submits to.
20
Those who have been saved from the uncleanness of this world by virtue of the knowledge of our mawla Isa Al-Masih, the victorious rescuer, then return, get caught up and defeated in it,will end up in a worse situation than they were in at first.
21
It would have been better for them if they had not known the straight path than to have known it and then turned back from the holy commandment they received.
