« Chapter 10 »
1
The sharia was only a shadow of the coming good things, not itself the reality. It cannot bring those who approach through it to perfection by repetition of the daily sacrifices that are offered year after year.
لَمْ تَكُنِ الشَّرِيعَةُ إِلَّا ظِلًّا لِلْخَيْرَاتِ الْآتِيَةِ وَلَيْسَتْ هِيَ الْحَقِيقَةَ ذَاتَهَا، فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَسْتَطِيعُ بِوَاسِطَةِ تَكْرَارِ الذَّبَائِحِ الْيَوْمِيَّةِ الَّتِي يَتِمُّ تَقْدِيمُهَا سَنَةً بَعْدَ سَنَةٍ إِيصَالَ إِلَى الْكَمَالِ الَّذِينَ يَتَقَرَّبُونَ بِهَا،

If the worshipers had been purified once from sins, presenting sacrifices would have stopped, because their consciences would have been without sin.
فَلَوْ تَطَهَّرَ الْعَابِدُونَ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ، لَتَوَقَّفَ تَقْدِيمُ الذَّبَائِحِ لِأَنَّ ضَمَائِرَهُمْ كَانَتْ بِلَا ذَنْبٍ.

But in these sacrifices, there is a reminder of sins every year,
لَكِنَّ فِي هَذِهِ الذَّبَائِحِ تَذْكِيرًا بِالذُّنُوبِ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ،

since the blood of bulls and goats are powerless to remove sins.
إِذْ دَمُ ثِيرَانٍ وَجِدَاءٍ عَاجِزٌ عَنْ إِزَالَةِ الذُّنُوبِ.

Therefore, when Isa came into this world, he said: "You have not desires sacrifices and qarabin, but you have prepared a body for me.
لِذَلِكَ قَالَ عِيسَى عِنْدَمَا أَتَى إِلَى الدُّنْيَا: «لَمْ تَرْغَبْ بِالذَّبِيحَةِ وَالْقُرْبَانِ، لَكِنَّكَ هَيَّأْتَ لِي بَدَنًا،

You did not have rida in sacrifices that are burnt or sacrifices for sin.
لَمْ تَرْضَ بِالذَّبَائِحِ لِلْحَرْقِ وَلَا بِالذَّبَائِحِ لِلذَّنْبِ،

It had been said previously that Allah did not desire or have rida in sacrifices, qarabin, sacrifices that are burnt, or sacrifices for sin. These are all offered according to the sharia.
لَقَدْ قِيلَ سَابِقًا إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَرْغَبْ وَلَمْ يَرْضَ بِالذَّبَائِحِ وَلَا بِالْقَرَابِينِ وَلَا بِالذَّبَائِحِ لِلْحَرْقِ وَلَا بِالذَّبَائِحِ لِلذَّنْبِ، اَلَّتِي يَتِمُّ تَقْدِيمُهَا جَمِيعًا حَسَبَ الشَّرِيعَةِ،

Then he added, "Here I am. I have come to do your will." With that, the first system has been removed so that the second system could be set up.
ثُمَّ أَضَافَ: «لَبَّيْكَ، لَقَدْ أَتَيْتُ لِأَعْمَلَ مَشِيئَتَكَ.» فَبِذَلِكَ أَزَالَ النِّظَامَ الْأَوَّلَ لِإِقَامَةِ النِّظَامِ الثَّانِي،

We have become holy people according to that will by which Isa Al-Masih offered his body once as a qurban.
وَقَدْ أَصْبَحْنَا مِنَ الْمُقَدَّسِينَ حَسَبَ تِلْكَ الْمَشِيئَةِ الَّتِي بِمُوجِبِهَا قَدَّمَ عِيسَى الْمَسِيحُ جَسَدَهُ قُرْبَانًا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً.

Every habr stands day after day to serve. He offers the same sacrifices time after time that are powerless to remove sins.
كَانَ كُلُّ حَبْرٍ يَقِفُ يَوْمًا بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ لِلْخِدْمَةِ وَيُقَدِّمُ مَرَّةً بَعْدَ مَرَّةٍ نَفْسَ الذَّبَائِحِ الْعَاجِزَةِ عَنْ إِزَالَةِ الذُّنُوبِ،

He has been waiting since then until his enemies will be put under his feet.
مُنْتَظِرًا مُنْذُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يُوْضَعَ أَعْدَاؤُهُ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ،

By one qurban, the holy people have been granted perfection forever.
لِأَنَّهُ بِقُرْبَانٍ وَاحِدٍ أَضْفَى عَلَى الْمُقَدَّسِينَ الْكَمَالَ إِلَى الْأَبَدِ.

Holy Ruh Allah testifies to us, since Allah had previous said in the kitab:
وَيَشْهَدُ لَنَا رُوحُ اللهِ الْقُدُّوسُ، إِذْ قَالَ اللهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ:

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days. Allah has spoken truly: I will put my sharia in their hearts, and engrave it on their minds.
«هَذَا هُوَ الْمِيثَاقُ الَّذِي سَأُبْرِمُهُ مَعَهُمْ بَعْدَ تِلْكَ الْأَيَّامِ، صَدَقَ اللهُ: سَأَضَعُ شَرِيعَتِي فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ، وَأَنْقُشُهَا عَلَى أَذْهَانِهِمْ.

I will be pardoning and releasing of their sins and disobedience."
وَسَأَكُونُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَعَاصِيهِمْ عَفُوًّا صَفُوحًا.»

Where these sins have been forgiven, there is no longer any need for a qurban for sin.
فَحَيْثُ تَمَّ غُفْرَانُ هَذِهِ الذُّنُوبِ، فَلَا حَاجَةَ بَعْدُ إِلَى الْقُرْبَانِ لِلذَّنْبِ.

So, brothers, we can enter confidently into the holiest haram by the blood of Isa,
فَإِذًا يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِخْوَةُ، إِنَّنَا نَسْتَطِيعُ الدُّخُولَ وَاثِقِينَ إِلَى الْحَرَمِ الْأَقْدَسِ بِدَمِ عِيسَى،

through the new, living way that he opened for us by piercing the veil, which is his body.
عَبْرَ الطَّرِيقِ الْجَدِيدِ الْحَيِّ الَّذِي فَتَحَهُ لَنَا بِخَرْقِ الْحِجَابِ الَّذِي هُوَ جَسَدُهُ،

We also have a great intercessor who supervised the house of Allah.
كَمَا أَنَّ لَنَا شَفِيعًا عَظِيمًا يُشْرِفُ عَلَى بَيْتِ اللهِ،
22
So let us approach with an honest, faithful heart and with steady, sure trust, since our hearts have been purified from an evil conscience by the sprinkled blood, and are bodies have been washed with pure water.
فَلْنَتَقَرَّبْ بِقَلْبٍ أَمِينٍ صَادِقٍ وَبِتَوَكُّلٍ مُتَيَقِّنٍ ثَابِتٍ، إِذْ قُلُوبُنَا مُطَهَّرَةٌ مِنَ الضَّمِيرِ الشَّرِيرِ بِالدَّمِ الْمَرْشُوشِ وَأَجْسَادُنَا مَغْسُولَةٌ بِالْمَاءِ الطَّاهِرِ،

Let us grasp firmly and insistently the shahada of our sure hope, because the promise of Allah Al-Amin is true.
وَلْنَتَمَسَّكْ بِإِصْرَارٍ بِشَهَادَةِ أَمَلِنَا الْيَقِينِ، لِأَنَّ وَعْدَ اللهِ الْأَمِينِ حَقٌّ.

Let us meditate how to urge each other to love and doing good.
وَلْنَتَأَمَّلْ كَيْفَ يَحُثُّ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا عَلَى الْمَحَبَّةِ وَفِعْلِ الْخَيْرِ
25
Let us not neglect to meet together, as some are accustomed to do. Let us encourage each other, especially because you see the approaching of the last day.
وَعَدَمِ إِهْمَالِ الِاجْتِمَاعِ مَعًا، كَمَا اعْتَادَ الْبَعْضُ أَنْ يَفْعَلَ، وَلْنُشَجِّعْ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا، وَبِالْأَكْثَرِ لِأَنَّكُمْ تَرَوْنَ اقْتِرَابَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ.

We have known the truth and accepted it. So if we commit disobedience intentionally, no sacrifice for sins remains for us.
لَقَدْ عَرَفْنَا الْحَقَّ وَقَبِلْنَاهُ، فَإِنْ كُنَّا نَرْتَكِبُ الْمَعْصِيَةَ عَمْدًا، لَا تَبْقَى لَنَا مِنْ ضَحِيَّةٍ لِلذُّنُوبِ،
27
Rather, we expect a fearful accounting and a burning fire that will consume the adversaries.
بَلْ نَتَوَقَّعُ حِسَابًا مُخِيفًا وَنَارًا مُتَّقِدَةً تَأْكُلُ الْمُخَاصِمِينَ.

Execution without mercy was the punishment for everyone who refused to obey the sharia of Musa if two or three witnesses testified against him.
لَقَدْ كَانَ الْإِعْدَامُ دُونَ رَحْمَةٍ عِقَابًا لِكُلِّ مَنْ رَفَضَ طَاعَةَ شَرِيعَةِ مُوسَى إِنْ شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِ شَاهِدَانِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٌ.

فَمَا أَشَدَّ الْعِقَابَ الَّذِي يَسْتَحِقُّهُ مَنْ دَاسَ الْأَمِيرَ حَبِيبَ اللهِ تَحْتَ رِجْلَيْهِ، وَازْدَرَى دَمَ الْمِيثَاقِ الَّذِي طَهَّرَهُ، وَأَهَانَ رُوحَ اللهِ الْمُنْعِمَ!

But remember the previous days, after light dawned on you, and how you struggled hard in bearing suffering patiently.
لَكِنْ تَذَكَّرُوا الْأَيَّامَ السَّالِفَةَ بَعْدَ إِشْرَاقِ النُّورِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَكَيْفَ جَاهَدْتُمْ جِهَادًا فِي تَحَمُّلِ الْمُعَانَاةِ صَابِرِينَ،

You were exposed to insults and afflictions on the one hand, and shared with those who underwent those sufferings on the other hand.
لَقَدْ تَعَرَّضْتُمْ لِلْإِهَانَاتِ وَالْمُضَايَقَاتِ مِنْ جِهَةٍ، وَشَارَكْتُمْ مَعَ الَّذِينَ قَاسُوا تِلْكَ الْمُعَانَاةَ مِنْ جِهَةٍ أُخْرَى.

You also had compassion on the imprisoned and accepted the confiscation of your properties with joy, sure that you had a better, lasting portion.
كَمَا تَعَاطَفْتُمْ مَعَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ وَقَبِلْتُمْ مُصَادَرَةَ أَمْلَاكِكُمْ بِفَرَحٍ، مُتَيَقِّنِينَ أَنَّ لَكُمْ نَصِيبًا أَفْضَلَ وَبَاقِيًا،

So hold your confidence fast! There is a great reward for it.
فَتَمَسَّكُوا بِثِقَتِكُمْ، إِذْ بِهَا جَزَاءٌ عَظِيمٌ.

You need to be patient, so you can do the will of Allah and so receive the promise.
أَنْتُمْ بِحَاجَةٍ إِلَى الصَّبْرِ لِكَيْ تَعْمَلُوا مَشِيئَةَ اللهِ، فَتَنَالُوا الْوَعْدَ،
37
Allah said: "Soon the coming one will come. He will not delay.
إِذْ قَالَ اللهُ: «بِأَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ، سَوْفَ يَأْتِي الْآتِي وَلَنْ يَتَأَخَّرَ،
39
We are not people who turn back and are destroyed. Rather we trust and are watchful over our souls.
أَمَّا نَحْنُ، فَلَسْنَا مِنَ الْمُرْتَدِّينَ الْهَالِكِينَ، بَلْ مِنَ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ الْحَرِيصِينَ عَلَى نُفُوسِهِمْ.
