«   Chapter 7   »

1
This Melchizadek was king of Salem and a habr to Allah Al-Aly. He met Ibrahim and prayed a dua' of baraka of Allah on him after Ibrahim had returned from his victory over the kings.
2
Ibrahim offered to him a tenth of all the spoils he had taken. According to the meaning implied in his name, Melchizadek, he is the king of truth and righteousness. He is also the king of Salem, the king of peace.
3
He had no father, mother, genealogy, beginning or end. He is like the Amir, the beloved of Allah, so he could be an interceding habr forever.
4
How great this man is! Ibrahim, father of the anbiya, himself offered him a tenth of the spoils!
5
The ahbar who are of the lineage of Levi have the right according to the sharia of the Tawrat to take a tenth of the income of their brothers, Bani Israil, even though they are all descended from Ibrahim.
6
But to this Melchizadek, who was not descended from this lineage, Ibrahim offered a tenth, and Melchizadek prayed a dua\' of the barakat of Allah on Ibrahim, who was the owner of the promises.
7
There is no argument that the greater person prays dua' for barakat on the person who is less than he is.
8
The ahbar who take a tenth are mortal humans, but Melchizadek, who took the tenth, is testified about that he is Hayy.
9
It could be said that Levi himself, who deserves the tenth, himself offered the tenth to Melchizadek by the hand of Ibrahim,
10
since Levi was still in the loins of his ancestor Ibrahim when Melchizadek met him.
11
The sharia, which was given to the people of Musa, focused on the system of interceding ahbar of the sons of Levi, but if perfection had been reached through them, there would be no need for another interceding habr with the rank of Melchizadek and not of the rank of Harun.
12
If the system of ahbar changes, this makes the sharia itself change, too.
13
Isa, who is symbolized by these matters, belongs to another Sibt, and it has never happened that someone from that Sibt has served as a habr at the altar.
14
It is clear that our mawla descended from the Sibt of Yahuda, and not one word was inspired to Musa about that tribe in regards to their being appointed as ahbar.
15
The matter becomes clearer when another interceding habr appears like Melchizadek,
16
who has become an intercessor not on the basis of a condition of the sharia connected with his ancestry, but on the basis of the power of his life that is victorious and everlasting.
17
Allah said about Isa: "You are an interceding habr forever with the rank of Melchizadek."
18
Thus on the one hand, the previous commandments were annulled because of they were weak and had little worth.
19
Attaining perfection did not happen through the sharia. On the other hand, Allah gave us a better hope as a means to approach him.
20
This intercessor was appointed by an oath, even though the interceding ahbar were appointed to their positions without an oath.
21
But as for this intercessor, Allah Al-Wakil swore at his appointment, saying, "Rabb Al-Alamin has sworn an oath and will not go back on it: You are an interceding habr forever."
22
On this basis, Isa is the guarantee of the better covenant.
23
The previous ahbar were many, because death prevented them from continuing in their positions.
24
But Isa remains an intercessor forever, since he is Hayy Samad.
25
Therefore, he is able to completely save forever those who approach Allah through him, since he is always Hayy forever to intercede with Allah for them.
26
We were in need of an intercessor with these qualities: He is pure, sinless, faultless, preserved from the uncleanness of disbelievers, raised higher than the heavens.
27
He has no need, like the chief ahbar, to offer sacrifices daily as atonement for his bad deeds first, and then for the bad deeds of the people. He ransomed us once and completely when he offered himself to death.
28
The sharia appointed weak people as chief ahbar, but the oath coming after the sharia has appointed the beloved Amir who has been made perfect forever and ever.
