« Chapter 21 »
1
Then he looked and saw the rich people putting their donations into the treasury of the house of Allah.
ثُمَّ تَطَلَّعَ وَرَأَى الْأَغْنِيَاءَ يُلْقُونَ تَبَرُّعَاتِهِمْ فِي صُنْدُوقِ بَيْتِ اللهِ،

He said, "I tell you a true saying: This poor widow has donated more than everyone else.
فَقَالَ: «أَقُولُ لَكُمْ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ: لَقَدْ تَبَرَّعَتْ هَذِهِ الْأَرْمَلَةُ الْفَقِيرَةُ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْجَمِيعِ،

Everyone threw in a small portion of their excess. But she gave all her livelihood, despite her poverty."
لِأَنَّ الْجَمِيعَ أَلْقَوْا جُزْءًا يَسِيرًا مِمَّا فَاضَ لَدَيْهِمْ، أَمَّا هِيَ فَبِرَغْمِ فَقْرِهَا تَبَرَّعَتْ بِكُلِّ مَعِيشَتِهَا.»

Some people began to speak of how the house of Allah was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts dedicated to Allah. Isa said,
وَأَخَذَ الْبَعْضُ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ عَنْ بَيْتِ اللهِ، وَكَيْفَ كَانَ مُزَيَّنًا بِأَحْجَارٍ جَمِيلَةٍ وَعَطَايَا مَنْذُورَةٍ لِلهِ، فَقَالَ عِيسَى:

"Days will come when nothing you see will be left with one stone on top of another, but all of them will be destroyed. "
«سَتَأْتِي أَيَّامٌ لَنْ يُتْرَكَ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا تَرَوْنَهُ حَجَرٌ عَلَى حَجَرٍ، بَلْ تُهْدَمُ كُلُّهَا.»

They asked him: "Teacher, when will these ayat happen? What is the ayah that precedes their coming?"
فَسَأَلُوهُ: «يَا مُعَلِّمُ، مَتَى تَحْدُثُ هَذِهِ الْأُمُورُ، وَمَا هِيَ عَلَامَةُ قُدُومِهَا؟»

He spoke to them, "Beware that you are not led astray! Many will come claiming in my name: "I am he! The hour has come close!" Do not follow them.
فَخَاطَبَهُمْ قَائِلًا: «إِيَّاكُمْ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا! سَيَأْتِي كَثِيرُونَ زَاعِمِينَ بِاسْمِي: أَنَا هُوَ! وَالسَّاعَةُ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَتْ! فَلَا تَتْبَعُوهُمْ.

Do not be afraid when you hear of wars and disturbances. These are things that must happen first, but the end will not follow immediately."
وَلَا تَرْتَعِبُوا حِينَ تَسْمَعُونَ عَنِ الْحُرُوبِ وَالْفِتَنِ. فَهِيَ أُمُورٌ لَا بُدَّ مِنْهَا أَوَّلًا، لَكِنَّ النِّهَايَةَ لَا تَعْقُبُهَا فَوْرًا.»

Then he told them, "One nation will attack another nation, and one kingdom will attack another kingdom.
ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: «سَتَقُومُ أُمَّةٌ عَلَى أُمَّةٍ، وَمَمْلَكَةٌ عَلَى مَمْلَكَةٍ،

Severe earthquakes, famines, and plagues will happen in many countries on earth. Terrifying sights and great ayat will appear in the sky.
وَسَتُصِيبُ الْأَرْضَ زَلَازِلُ شَدِيدَةٌ وَمَجَاعَاتٌ وَأَوْبِئَةٌ فِي بِلَادٍ كَثِيرَةٍ، وَتَظْهَرُ مَنَاظِرُ مُرْعِبَةٌ وَآيَاتٌ كُبْرَى مِنَ السَّمَاءِ.

Before all these events, they will arrest you, persecute you, turn you over for trial at houses of salat, send you to prisons, and accuse you in front of kings and governors because of my name.
وَقَبْلَ كُلِّ هَذِهِ الْأَحْدَاثِ، سَيَقْبِضُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَيَضْطَهِدُونَكُمْ وَيُسَلِّمُونَكُمْ لِمُحَاكَمَةِ الْمُصَلَّيَاتِ وَلِلسُّجُونِ، وَيَتَّهِمُونَكُمْ أَمَامَ الْمُلُوكِ وَالْوُلَاةِ بِسَبَبِ اسْمِي.

These will be your opportunities to give a shahada about me.
وَسَتَكُونُ هَذِهِ فُرْصَتَكُمْ لِتُقَدِّمُوا شَهَادَتَكُمْ عَنِّي.

Be calm in your hearts and do not prepare a defense for yourselves beforehand.
فَاطْمَئِنُّوا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَلَا تُعِدُّوا مُسَبَّقًا دِفَاعًا عَنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ،

I will give you words and wisdom your adversaries will not be to resist or contradict.
لِأَنَّنِي سَأَهَبُ لَكُمْ كَلَامًا وَحِكْمَةً لَنْ يَقْدِرَ خُصُومُكُمْ أَنْ يُقَاوِمُوهُمَا أَوْ يُنَاقِضُوهُمَا.

Your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends will betray you, and they will execute some of you.
وَسَيَخُونُكُمْ حَتَّى آبَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَتُكُمْ وَأَقْرِبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَصْدِقَاؤُكُمْ، وَيُعْدِمُونَ بَعْضَكُمْ،

All people will hate you because of my name.
وَسَوْفَ يُبْغِضُكُمْ كُلُّ النَّاسِ بِسَبَبِ اسْمِي،
18
But not one hair from your heads will be destroyed.
لَكِنْ لَنْ تَهْلِكَ شَعْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْ رُؤُوسِكُمْ،
19
Gain your souls by your firm patience.
فَبِصَبْرِكُمُ الرَّاسِخِ اكْسِبُوا نُفُوسَكُمْ.

On that day, whoever is in Yahudia should flee to the mountains. Whoever is in the city should leave it. Whoever is in a rural area should not go into the city.
يَوْمَئِذٍ لِيَهْرُبْ مَنْ كَانَ فِي مُحَافَظَةِ الْقُدْسِ إِلَى الْجِبَالِ، وَلْيَهْجُرِ الْمَدِينَةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِيهَا، وَلَا يَدْخُلْهَا مَنْ كَانَ فِي الرِّيفِ،

اَلْوَيْلُ لِلْحَبَالَى وَالْمُرْضِعَاتِ فِي تِلْكَ الْأَيَّامِ مِنَ النَّكْبَةِ الشَّدِيدَةِ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأَرْضِ وَمِنْ غَضَبِ اللهِ عَلَى هَذَا الشَّعْبِ!

إِذْ سَيُقْتَلُ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِحَدِّ السَّيْفِ، وَفَرِيقٌ آخَرُ يُسَاقُونَ أَسْرَى إِلَى جَمِيعِ أُمَمِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، وَتُحْتَلُّ الْقُدْسُ وَتَدُوسُهَا الْأُمَمُ إِلَى أَنْ تُخْتَتَمَ أَزْمِنَةُ الْأُمَمِ.

Ayat will appear in the sun, moon and stars. Nations will be astounded and puzzled at the sounds and raging of the seas.
سَتَظْهَرُ آيَاتٌ فِي الشَّمْسِ وَالْقَمَرِ وَالنُّجُومِ، وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ يُصِيبُ الْأُمَمَ هَلَعٌ وَحَيْرَةٌ مِنْ أَصْوَاتِ الْبِحَارِ وَهَيَجَانِهَا،

People will faint in fear and terror at what is happening to the world. The powers of heaven will be shaken.
وَيُغْمَى عَلَى النَّاسِ خَوْفًا وَخِشْيَةً مِمَّا سَيُصِيبُ الْمَسْكُونَةَ، إِذْ تَتَزَعْزَعُ قُوَى السَّمَاوَاتِ.

Then he told them a story, "Look at the fig tree, and all trees.
ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ لَهُمْ مَثَلًا: «اُنْظُرُوا إِلَى شَجَرَةِ التِّينِ وَكُلِّ الْأَشْجَارِ،

When their leaves appear, it is an obvious ayah to you that summer is near.
إِنَّ ظُهُورَ وَرَقِهَا عَلَامَةٌ بَدِيهِيَّةٌ لَكُمْ أَنَّ الصَّيْفَ قَرِيبٌ.

When you see all these ayat happen, know that the kingdom of Allah is near.
وَكَذَلِكَ أَنْتُمْ، عِنْدَمَا تَرَوْنَ حُدُوثَ هَذِهِ الْآيَاتِ، فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ مَلَكُوتَ اللهِ قَرِيبٌ.

Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
سَتَزُولُ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ، أَمَّا كَلِمَاتِي فَلَنْ تَزُولَ أَبَدًا.

Watch out for yourselves. Do not let your hearts be exhausted with cares, drunkenness, and worries of this world. If you do, that day may surprise you.
فَانْتَبِهُوا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ لِئَلَّا تُرْهِقُوا قُلُوبَكُمْ بِالنَّهَمِ وَالسُّكْرِ وَهُمُومِ الدُّنْيَا، فَيُفَاجِئَكُمْ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ،

It will come as a trap for all inhabitants of the world.
إِذْ سَيَأْتِي كَفَخٍّ عَلَى سُكَّانِ الْأَرْضِ كُلِّهِمْ.

All the people would come to him in the house of Allah early in the morning to hear him.
وَكَانَ الشَّعْبُ كُلُّهُ يَأْتِي إِلَيْهِ بَاكِرًا فِي بَيْتِ اللهِ لِكَيْ يَسْتَمِعَ إِلَيْهِ.
