Chapter 1 »
6
Yahya wore a robe made from camel hair and a leather belt, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
8
I have immersed you into water, but he will immerse you into Holy Ruh Allah!"
9
In those days, Isa came from the town of Al-Nasira in Al-Jalil, and Yahya immersed him into the Jordan River.
10
When Isa came up out of the water, he immediately saw the heavens torn open and Ruh Allah descending and remaining on him like a dove.
12
Ruh Allah immediately drove Isa out into the wilderness.
13
He stayed there for forty days and during that time, Al-Shaitan tempted him. He was out among wild animals, and angels served him.
14
After Yahya was arrested, Isa went out into Al-Jalil, where he proclaimed good news from Allah, saying,
15
"The time has come, and the kingdom of Allah is near! Repent and trust the good news!"
16
And as Isa was walking along the shore of Al-Jalil Lake, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing their net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
17
And he told them, "Follow me, and I will make you gather people instead of fish!"
18
And immediately they left their nets and followed him.
19
And as Isa walked further, he saw Yacoub son of Zebedee and John his brother and those in the boat repairing nets.
20
And immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, with the hired men in the boat, and followed him.
23
And immediately, there was a man in the house of salat who had been touched by an unclean spirit. He shouted,
24
"Leave us alone, Isa Al-Nasiri. Have you come to destroy us? We know who you are. You are the holy rasul of Allah!"
25
And Isa rebuked the jinni, "Be quiet and come out of him."
26
And the unclean spirit threw the man into a convulsion, shouted loudly, and came out of him.
27
And they were all amazed, and they asked each other: "What is this?! He commands even the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey him!"
28
And the reputation of Isa immediately spread through the surrounding region of Al-Jalil.
29
And immediately, they left the house of salat and went to the house of Simon and Andrew with Yacoub and John.
30
Now the mother-in-law of Simon was lying down because she had a fever. They told Isa about her immediately.
31
And he went to her and raised her by holding her hand. And the fever left her, and she served them.
32
After sunset, people brought him everyone who was sick or touched by jinn.
33
The whole town gathered around the door.
35
Isa got up the next morning before dawn and went out to the wilderness. He began to pray in dua' there.
36
Then Simon and his companions followed him.
37
When they found him, they said, "Everyone is looking for you."
38
But he told them, "Let us go to the surrounding villages, so that I can proclaim the message there, too. For that is why I came out."
39
And he went around to all Al-Jalil, proclaiming it in the houses of salat and casting out jinn.
42
Immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made tahir.
43
Isa sent him away immediately with a strong warning.
45
But the man went away and began to proclaim many things. He spread the news, so that Isa could not publicly enter any town. But Isa was outside in the wilderness, and people were coming to him from everywhere.
