« Chapter 28
1
After Al-Sabt, on Sunday at dawn, Mariam Magdalene and the other Mariam came to the grave to see it.
وَبَعْدَ السَّبْتِ فِي يَوْمِ الْأَحَدِ فَجْرًا، أَتَتْ مَرْيَمُ الْمَجْدَلِيَّةُ وَمَرْيَمُ الْأُخْرَى إِلَى الْقَبْرِ لِتَرَيَاهُ.

Suddenly there was a strong earthquake, because an angel came down from Rabb Al-Alamin, rolled the stone away from the entrance of the grave, and sat on it.
وَفَجْأَةً زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ بِشِدَّةٍ، لِأَنَّ مَلَاكًا نَازِلًا مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ قَدْ دَحْرَجَ الْحَجَرَ عَنْ مَدْخَلِ الْقَبْرِ وَجَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ.

He looked like lightning and his robe was white like snow.
وَكَانَتْ هَيْئَتُهُ كَالْبَرْقِ، وَثَوْبُهُ أَبْيَضَ كَالثَّلْجِ.

The guards shook in terror and were paralyzed like dead people.
فَارْتَجَفَ الْحُرَّاسُ رُعْبًا وَشُلُّوا كَأَمْوَاتٍ.

But the angel told the two women, "Do not be afraid! I know you are seeking Isa who was crucified.
وَلَكِنَّ الْمَلَاكَ قَالَ لِلْمَرْأَتَيْنِ: «لَا تَخَافَا! أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكُمَا تَبْحَثَانِ عَنْ عِيسَى الَّذِي صُلِبَ.

He is not here. He was resurrected alive according to his saying. Come see the place where he was put.
هُوَلَيْسَ هُنَا، لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ بُعِثَ حَيًّا حَسَبَ قَوْلِهِ. تَعَالَيَا وَانْظُرَا الْمَكَانَ الَّذِي كَانَ مَوْضُوعًا فِيهِ.

Then go quickly and tell his hawariyun that he was resurrected alive from death. He will go before you to Al-Jalil. You will see him there. I have told you the message."
اِذْهَبَا بِسُرْعَةٍ وَأَخْبِرَا حَوَارِيِّيهِ أَنَّهُ قَدْ بُعِثَ حَيًّا مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأَمْوَاتِ، وَهُوَ يَسْبِقُكُمْ إِلَى الْجَلِيلِ، وَهُنَاكَ سَتُبْصِرُونَهُ. إِنَّنِي قَدْ بَلَّغْتُكُمَا الرِّسَالَةَ.»

They went quickly from the grave. They were afraid and very happy. They ran to announce the news to his hawariyun.
فَأَسْرَعَتَا مِنَ الْقَبْرِ بِخَوْفٍ وَفَرَحٍ عَظِيمٍ، وَرَكَضَتَا لِتُعْلِنَا الْخَبَرَ لِحَوَارِيِّيهِ.

Then Isa met them and told them, "Assalamu Alaykum!" They approached him and bowed down to him, holding his feet.
وَإِذَا بِعِيسَى قَابَلَهُمَا وَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمَا!» فَدَنَتَا مِنْهُ وَسَجَدَتَا لَهُ وَهُمَا مُمْسِكَتَانِ بِقَدَمَيْهِ.

Then Isa told them, "Do not be afraid! Go and announce to my brothers that they should travel to Al-Jalil. They will see me there."
ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمَا عِيسَى: «لَا تَخَافَا! اِذْهَبَا وَأَعْلِنَا لِإِخْوَتِي أَنْ يَرْتَحِلُوا إِلَى الْجَلِيلِ، فَهُنَاكَ سَيُبْصِرُونَنِي.»

While they were on the way, some of the guards went and told the leading ahbar everything that happened.
وَحِينَ هُمَا فِي الطَّرِيقِ، ذَهَبَ بَعْضُ الْحُرَّاسِ وَأَخْبَرُوا كِبَارَ الْأَحْبَارِ بِكُلِّ مَا جَرَى.

They met with the sheikhs of the people and discussed the matter among themselves. They gave the soldiers a large bribe.
فَاجْتَمَعُوا مَعَ شُيُوخِ الشَّعْبِ وَتَشَاوَرُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ، وَأَعْطَوُا الْجُنُودَ رَشَاوٍ كَبِيرَةً،

They told them, "Tell people: His helpers came at night and stole his body while we were asleep.
وَقَالُوا لَهُمْ: «قُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ إِنَّ أَنْصَارَهُ جَاءُوا لَيْلًا وَسَرَقُوا جَسَدَهُ وَنَحْنُ نِيَامٌ.

The soldiers took the bribe and did what they ordered them. This lie is still spread among Al-Yahud today.
فَأَخَذُوا الرِّشْوَةَ وَفَعَلُوا كَمَا أَمَرُوهُمْ. فَهَذِهِ الْكِذْبَةُ لَا تَزَالُ مُنْتَشِرَةً بَيْنَ الْيَهُودِ لِهَذَا الْيَوْمِ.

The eleven hawariyun went to the mountain in Al-Jalil according to the command of Isa.
أَمَّا الْحَوَارِيُّونَ الْأَحَدَ عَشَرَ فَذَهَبُوا إِلَى جَبَلٍ فِي الْجَلِيلِ حَسَبَ أَمْرِ عِيسَى،

When they saw him, they bowed to him. But some of them doubted.
وَحِينَمَا رَأَوْهُ سَجَدُوا لَهُ، لَكِنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ كَانُوا مِنَ الْمُرْتَابِينَ.

Isa approached them and told them, "Allah has given me all authority in heaven and on earth.
فَاقْتَرَبَ مِنْهُمْ عِيسَى وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «قَدْ وَكَّلَنِي اللهُ بِكُلِّ السُّلْطَانِ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ،

Train them to keep everything I have commanded you. I am with you every day forever."
وَلَقِّنُوهُمْ أَنْ يَلْتَزِمُوا بِكُلِّ مَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ، وَإِنَّنِي بَاقٍ مَعَكُمْ كُلَّ الْأَيَّامِ إِلَى الْأَبَدِ.
