«   Chapter 3   »

1
So in what way is the Yahudi better than anyone else? What is the benefit of circumcision?
2
It is great in all aspects. First, Allah entrusted Al-Yahud with his words.
3
What if there were kuffar among them? Does their kufr negate the faithfulness of Allah?
4
Allah forbid! Allah is true even if every human lies. As it says in the kitab, "Allah, your words are trustworthy and you defeat all your opponents."
5
If our wickedness shows the justice of Allah, what will we say? Will we accuse Allah of injustice if he is angry with us? Those are human words.
6
Allah forbid! If not, how could Allah condemn all people?
7
"If my lie shows the trustworthiness of Allah and raises up his glory, how can Allah consider me a sinner?"
8
and also, "Let us do evil actions so that good will come of them." Some people accuse [us]{.underline} of these awful sayings. They deserve the punishment of Allah.
9
So what? Are we Al-Yahud better? No! We have shown above that people, whether Yahud or Greeks, are unjust and disbelieving.
10
As Allah revealed in the kitab: "No one is righteous at all, not one.
11
No one understands. No one seeks the face of Allah.
12
Everyone has gone astray. They have all become worthless. No one does what is good -- none at all."
13
"Their throats are open graves. Their tongues are deceitful." "The poison of vipers is under their lips."
14
"Their mouths overflow with cursing and bitterness."
15
"Their feet run to shed blood.
16
There is destruction and misery in their way.
17
They do not know the path of peace."
18
"The fear of Allah is not before their eyes."
19
We know that everything Allah revealed in the sharia is valid for those who are under the sharia, so that no one would remain without an excuse and the condemnation of Allah would be on everyone.
20
Thus no one will be considered righteous before Allah by applying the regulations of the sharia, since we realize through the sharia what sin is.
21
But now Allah has shown a righteousness from him apart from the sharia. It is, however, witnessed in the sharia of the Tawrat and the scrolls of the anbiya.
22
It is the righteousness that Allah gives by means of the faithfulness of Isa Al-Masih to everyone who believes and trusts. There is no difference among people,
23
since they are all sinners who fall short of pleasing Allah Al-Majeed.
24
Allah gives them righteousness by his grace through the ransom of Isa Al-Masih for them.
25
That is because Allah offered Isa publically by his blood as an atoning victim for the sins of those who trust in him. Thus the justice of Allah is made clear, since he overlooked, by the expanse of his patience, the sins of people in the past time.
26
He also makes his justice clear in the present. He is righteous and the giver of righteousness to the one who trusts in Isa.
27
Where is boasting? It has no more place to be expressed. On what basis? On the basis of deeds? No, but on the basis of trust.
28
We conclude that people are considered righteous by trust, apart from applying the regulations of the sharia.
29
Is Allah the Rabb of Al-Yahud only? Is he not the Rabb of all the non-Yahudi nations also? Yes, he is Rabb of those nations also.
30
For Allah is Ahad, the Wahhab of righteousness to Al-Yahud by trust and the giver of righteousness to the non-Yahud by the same trust.
31
Do we cancel the sharia of the kitab by this trust? Allah forbid! Rather, we confirm the sharia.
