«   Chapter 6   »

1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace will increase?
2
May Allah forbid it! We have died to sin, so how can we live in it anymore?
3
Do you not know that all of us who were immersed as belonging to Al-Masih Isa also belong to his death?
4
By this belonging we were buried with him in his death so that we can walk in new life, just like Al-Masih was resurrected alive from among the dead by the splendor of the glory of Al-Malik Al-Rahman.
5
If we have been united with him in a death like his, our resurrection will be like his also.
6
We know that our old being was executed on the cross with him so that the sinful body would die, and we would no longer be slaves to sin.
7
The person who dies is freed from sin.
8
Since we have died with Al-Masih, we believe that we will live with him, too.
9
We know that Al-Masih has been resurrected alive from among the dead, and he will never die again. Death will have no more authority over him.
10
Through his death, he died once for sins. But his life he lives to Allah.
11
So consider yourselves also dead with regard to sins, and live to Allah by your belonging to Al-Masih Isa.
12
Do not let sins rule over your mortal bodies and do not let its passions make you slaves.
13
Do not deliver the members of your bodies as weapons of wickedness by way of sins.
14
Sins will have no authority over you, since you are not under the sharia, but under the grace of Allah.
15
What then? Are we permitted to sin because we are under the grace of Allah and not under the sharia? May Allah forbid it!
16
Do you not know that if you deliver yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you become slaves of the person you obey, either sins, which lead to death or obedience, which leads to righteousness.
17
But Alhamdulillah that you obeyed the truths you learned from your hearts, even though you were slaves to sins.
18
You were freed from slavery to sins and have become slaves of righteousness.
19
I speak in proverbs of this world because of your human weakness. You delivered the members of your bodies as slaves to uncleanness and disobedience, to commit them increasingly. But now, deliver your bodies as slaves of righteousness so that you will be purified and holy.
20
In the past, you were slaves of sins and free from righteousness.
21
What benefit did you get from the fruit of these things of which you are now ashamed? That leads to death.
22
You have now been freed from slavery to sins, and have become slaves of Allah. So you have obtained the fruit of holiness and purity, which leads to eternal spiritual life.
23
The punishment of sins is death, but the gift of the grace of Allah is eternal spiritual life by our belonging to our mawla Al-Masih Isa.
