« Chapter 3 »
1
Be certain that the last days are difficult days.
وَكُنْ عَلَى يَقِينٍ أَنَّ الْأَيَّامَ الْأَخِيرَةَ هِيَ أَيَّامٌ عَسِيرَةٌ.

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, cursers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unclean,
سَيَكُونُ النَّاسُ فِيهَا مُحِبِّي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمُحِبِّي الْمَالِ، مُفْتَخِرِينَ مُتَعَجْرِفِينَ شَتَّامِينَ وَعُصَاةً لِلْوَالِدَيْنِ، جُحُودِينَ لِلْجَمِيلِ نَجِسِينَ،

uncompassionate, unpardoning, liars, not self-controlled, fierce, enemies of good,
غَيْرَ مُتَرَئِّفِينَ، غَيْرَ مُتَسَامِحِينَ، مُفْتَرِينَ، غَيْرَ مُنْضَبِطِينَ، شَرِسِينَ، أَعْدَاءً لِلصَّلَاحِ،

traitors, irresponsible, proud, and lovers of pleasure more than they love Allah.
خَوَنَةً، مُتَهَوِّرِينَ مُتَكَبِّرِينَ مُحِبِّينَ لِلَّذَّةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ حُبِّهِمْ لِلهِ،

They will pretend they are reverent, but deny its power. Avoid that kind of people!
مُتَظَاهِرِينَ بِمَظْهَرِ التَّقْوَى، لَكِنَّ مُنْكِرِي قُوَّتِهَا. تَجَنَّبْ أَمْثَالَ هَؤُلَاءِ!

Some of them sneak into houses and capture weak women who are burdened with sins and are led by various passions.
إِذْ مِنْهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ إِلَى الْبُيُوتِ، فَيَأْسِرُونَ الضَّعِيفَاتِ الْمُثْقَلَاتِ بِالذُّنُوبِ، اَللَّوَاتِي يَنْقَدْنَ إِلَى مُخْتَلِفِ الشَّهَوَاتِ،

They are always learning new teachings. They can never reach the knowledge of the truth.
وَيَتَعَلَّمْنَ تَعَالِيمَ جَدِيدَةً دَائِمًا وَلَا يَسْتَطِعْنَ الْبُلُوغَ إِلَى مَعْرِفَةِ الْحَقِّ أَبَدًا.

وَمِثْلَمَا كَانَ يَنِّيسُ وَيَمْبَرِيسُ يُقَاوِمَانِ مُوسَى، فَكَذَلِكَ هَؤُلَاءِ يُقَاوِمُونَ الْحَقَّ، هُمْ أُنَاسٌ ذَوُو تَفْكِيرٍ فَاسِدٍ وَفَاشِلُونَ مِنْ جِهَةِ الْإِيمَانِ.

But they will not advance further, since their foolishness will expose them before everyone, just as the foolishness of Jannes and Jambres was exposed.
لَكِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَتَقَدَّمُوا أَكْثَرَ إِذْ سَتَنْفَضِحُ حَمَاقَتُهُمْ أَمَامَ الْجَمِيعِ، كَمَا انْفَضَحَتْ حَمَاقَةُ يَنِّيسَ وَيَمْبَرِيسَ.

But you have completely followed my teaching, my behavior, my determination, my trust, my patience, my love and my patience
أَمَّا أَنْتَ، فَقَدِ اتَّبَعْتَ تَمَامًا تَعْلِيمِي وَتَصَرُّفَاتِي وَعَزْمِي وَتَوَكُّلِي وَطُولَ أَنَاتِي وَمَحَبَّتِي وَصَبْرِي

in persecution and suffering I underwent in the cities of Antakya and Iconia and Lystra. But our mawla rescued me from all this persecution.
فِي الِاضْطِهَادِ وَالْآلَامِ الَّتِي قَاسَيْتُهُمَا فِي مُدُنِ أَنْطَاكِيَةَ وَإِيقُونِيَةَ وَلِسْتَرَا، لَكِنَّ مَوْلَانَا قَدْ أَنْقَذَنِي مِنْ كُلِّ هَذَا الِاضْطِهَادِ،

Truly all those who strive to live a life of reverence, belonging to Al-Masih Isa, will undergo persecution for its sake.
وَفِعْلًا إِنَّ جَمِيعَ الَّذِينَ يَحْرِصُونَ عَلَى حَيَاةِ التَّقْوَى مُنْتَمِينَ إِلَى الْمَسِيحِ عِيسَى سَوْفَ يُقَاسُونَ اضْطِهَادًا فِي سَبِيلِهَا،

But evil and treacherous people will fall in their errors. They are deceivers and they are deceived.
أَمَّا الْأَشْرَارُ وَالْمُحْتَالُونَ، فَفِي ضَلَالِهِمْ سَيَتَدَهْوَرُونَ، وَهُمْ مِنَ الْخَادِعِينَ الْمَخْدُوعِينَ.

As for you, continue to do what you learned and are convinced of, because you know the one from whom you learned it.
أَمَّا أَنْتَ، فَوَاظِبْ عَلَى مَا تَعَلَّمْتَهُ مُقْتَنِعًا بِهِ، لِأَنَّكَ تَعْرِفُ ذَاكَ الَّذِي تَعَلَّمْتَهُ مِنْهُ،

Since you were young, you have known the holy kitab. It has the wisdom to lead you to save yourself through trust in Al-Masih Isa.
وَإِنَّكَ عَرَفْتَ مُنْذُ صِغَرِكَ الْكُتُبَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ، وَفِيهَا الْحِكْمَةُ الَّتِي تَهْدِيكَ إِلَى نَجَاةِ نَفْسِكَ بِوَاسِطَةِ التَّوَكُّلِ عَلَى الْمَسِيحِ عِيسَى.

Every verse in the kitab is inspired by Allah, and benefits in teaching, warning, correcting, and disciplining on Al-Sirat Al-Mustaqim,
فَكُلُّ آيَةٍ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ هِيَ وَحْيٌ مِنَ اللهِ، تَنْفَعُ فِي التَّعْلِيمِ وَالْإِنْذَارِ وَالتَّقْوِيمِ وَالتَّأْدِيبِ فِي الصِّرَاطِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ،

so that the slave who is devoted to Allah will be qualified and ready for every good work.
حَتَّى يَتَأَهَّلَ الْعَبْدُ الْمَنْذُورُ لِلهِ، فَيُصْبِحَ مُهَيَّأً لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ.
