Second Timothy

«   Chapter 4

1
I urge you by Allah and by Al-Masih Isa, the judge of the living and the dead, and by his appearing and the setting up of his kingdom:
2
announce the word, and continue to do so at all times, rebuke and warn and encourage with all patience and teaching.
3
The time will come when people will not tolerate sound teaching, but they will gather teachers around them who will satisfy their passions with teaching that pleases their ears.
4
They will turn their ears away from listening to the truth and deviate into listening to fables.
5
As for you, be alert in everything, be patient in suffering, work as an agent to spread the good news, and finish your service.
6
The sacrifice of my life as a qurban has begun, and the time of my departure is here.
7
I have struggled in the good fight, finished my course, and kept the faith by trusting.
8
From now on, a crown of righteousness has been reserved for me. My mawla, the righteous judge, will reward me with it on Yawm Al-Din, and not me alone, but all those who yearn eagerly for his appearing.
9
Make every effort to come to me soon.
10
For Demas has loved the life of this world, and has left me and gone to Thessalonica. Criskus has gone to Galatia and Titus to Dalmatia.
11
No one is still with me except Luke. Bring Mark with you, because he is useful in serving me.
12
I have sent Tychichus to Ephesus.
13
Bring with you my cloak that I left with Carpus in Troad, the books, and especially the leather copies of scripture.
14
The coppersmith Alexander harmed me a lot, and our mawla will pay him back according to his deeds.
15
Beware of him, because he opposed our teaching strongly.
16
At my first court session to defend myself, no one helped me. They all left me. May Allah forgive them!
17
But my mawla stood beside me and strengthened me so that the good news was proclaimed and all the non-Yahudi nations could hear. In this way I escaped from the mouth of the lion.
18
My mawla will rescue me from every evil work and make me enter safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory and splendor forever and ever. Amen.
19
Greet Prisca and Aquila and the family of Onesiphorus.
20
Arastus remained in Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus.
21
Make every effort to come before winter. Eubulus, Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers greet you.
22
May our mawla be with your spirit. The grace of Allah be with you.
