Colossians

«   Chapter 2   »

1
I want you to know that I struggle on behalf of you, the people in Laodicea, and everyone who has not seen my face.
2
I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love. Then they will experience the complete riches of sure insight and the knowledge of the mystery of Allah Al-Malik Al-Rahman. That mystery is Al-Masih.
3
In him, all treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
4
I say this so that no one would deceive you with misleading words.
5
Even though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you by Ruh Allah. I am happy to see the commitment of your lives and the firmness of your trust in Al-Masih.
6
You have chosen Al-Masih Isa as your mawla. So walk like you belong to him.
7
You are rooted and supported by him, so be firm in trust, as you learned. And overflow with praise and thanks.
8
Be careful! Do not let anyone capture you with an empty, deceptive philosophy built on human traditions and worldly, spiritual elements, and not built on Al-Masih.
9
For the fullness of the perfection of the nature of Allah lives bodily in him.
10
You have become full since you belong to him. He is the head of all spiritual leaders and authorities.
11
Since you belong to him, Allah made you tahir by circumcision. This was not done by human hands, but by removing of your human nature in the spiritual circumcision of Al-Masih.
12
By the ghusl of faith you were buried with him. Then you were resurrected alive with him by your trust in the power of Allah, which resurrected him alive from death.
13
You were dead in your disobedience, having a nature that had not been made tahir. But Allah made you alive with him and forgave all your disobedience.
14
He annulled the certificate of debt and the regulations written against us. He removed it completely, nailing it to the cross.
15
He stripped the spiritual rulers and authorities of their weapons. Then he disgraced them, and paraded them as defeated foes in his victory procession.
16
So do not let anyone condemn you. They say some food or drink, holidays, new moons, or sabbaths are halal or not.
17
These are only a shadow of coming matters. But the true essence is Al-Masih.
18
So do not let anyone rob you of your reward. They pretend outwardly to be humble, devoted to angels, and involved in matters of the unknown. But they are deceived by their vain, human thinking.
19
They do not hold firm to the head, which nourishes the whole body. And the body is connected with its joints and ligaments and flourishes by the power of Allah.
20
If you have died with Al-Masih to worldly, spiritual elements, why do you live in a worldly manner? Why are you subject to these regulations:
21
"Drinking this is haraam. Eating that is haraam. Touching this is haraam."?
22
These regulations are only human commandments and teachings. They all deal with things that are consumed and disappear.
23
These regulations appear wise on the outside. They deal with external devotion, humility, and bodily deprivation. But they have no authority over the passions of the human nature.
