«   Chapter 2   »

1
But as for you, teach suitable behavior with sound teaching.
2
The old men should be moderate, dignified, and reasonable, with healthy trust, love and patience.
3
The old women should be adorned with humility. They should not be liars or addicted to wine. Rather, they should be guides to righteousness.
4
In this way, they will train the young women to love their husbands and children,
5
to be reasonable and pure, to take care of their homes, to be good, and to be submissive to their husbands. This way, the word of Allah will not be despised.
6
Urge the young men to be reasonable.
7
Be a model of righteous deeds in everything. Teach them with integrity, dignity,
8
and sound words that cannot be blamed. Then, the opponents will be ashamed. They will not find anything in it to criticize.
9
Slaves must be submissive to their masters in everything, and give them rida without opposing them.
10
They must not steal anything from them, but show their faithfulness, so that the glory of the teaching of Allah, our victorious rescuer, would be apparent in everything.
11
The grace of Allah has appeared, providing saving mercy for all people.
12
We have learned from that grace to deny immorality and worldly passions, and to live reverent, righteous, and reasonable lives in this world
13
while we wait for our blessed, sure hope, which is revealed in the appearing of the glory of our great Rabb and of our ransomer, Al-Masih Isa.
14
He sacrificed himself for us so that he could ransom us from all disobedience and purify for himself a special umma for himself who are zealous for righteous deeds.
15
Speak to them about these matters and urge and warn them with all authority. Do not let anyone look down on you.
