«   Chapter 3

1
Remind them to submit to all rulers and authorities, to obey, and to be ready for every good deed.
2
They must not insult anyone or fight. They must be gentle and treat everyone with perfect meekness.
3
In the days when we were jahil, we were foolish, disobedient, led astray, and slaves to various passions and pleasures. We were wasting our lives in hatred and envy. People hated us and we hated one another.
4
But when the kindness, patience, and love of Allah, our victorious rescuer appeared to Bani Adam,
5
Allah ransomed us, not because of our righteous deeds, but because of his mercy, by the ghusl of second birth and by his holy Ruh which renews us.
6
He poured his Ruh on us abundantly through our ransomer, Isa Al-Masih
7
so that we, whom he gave righteousness by his grace, would inherit a sure portion in life of eternity.
8
This saying is true, and I want you to affirm it with confidence, so that the believers in Allah will be motivated to righteous deeds, which are good and beneficial for people.
9
I also want you to avoid foolish questionings, investigations into genealogies, conflicts, and fighting about the sharia. All that is worthless and vain.
10
Avoid people that cause conflicts after warning them once or twice.
11
A person like this is crooked, fleshly, and has convicted himself of guilt.
12
As soon as I sent you Artemis or Tychicus, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have determined to spend the winter there.
13
Try hard to send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos with everything they need.
14
Let our people learn to do righteous deeds, so that they can meet the urgent needs and be fruitful with good.
15
Everyone with me greets you. Greet the believers who love us. The grace of Allah be with you all.
