Second Corinthians

«   Chapter 5   »

1
We know that when our worldly bodies are destroyed, and they are only a tent, we will have a heavenly building formed by Allah, not by human hands.
2
So we groan from extreme longing for the time that this heavenly dwelling would contain us.
3
Then we will be clothed and cover our nakedness.
4
We groan from the burden as long as we are in the tent of this body, not desiring to take it off, but rather desiring to be clothed with life that will swallow mortality.
5
Allah is the one who has prepared us for this very destiny, and he gave us his Ruh as a down payment for that.
6
We are always certain that as long as we are residing in our bodies, we are living away from the presence of our mawla.
7
So we walk by trust, not by what we see.
8
So we are owners of the right hand, and we wish we could leave our bodies and reside with our mawla.
9
We strive to please him, whether we are in or out of the house of this body.
10
We must all appear before the seat of judgment of Al-Masih. Everyone will be rewarded for the deeds he has earned while he was residing in his body, whether good or worthless.
11
Since we know the meaning of the fear of Allah, we try to convince people. Allah is Alim about our matter, and I wish you could know about our matter also in your consciences.
12
We do not commend ourselves again, but we give you a reason to boast in us before those who boast in externals and not in what the heart conceals.
13
If we have lost our sanity, it is for the sake of Allah. If we are sensible, it is for your benefit.
14
For the love of Al-Masih compels us, since we are sure that one has died as a ransom for everyone, so everyone has died.
15
He died as a ransom for all, so that the living would not live any more for themselves, but for the one who died as a ransom for them and was resurrected alive.
16
So we no longer know anyone according to his human nature, even if we got to know Al-Masih in a human manner. But we no longer know him like that.
17
If anyone belongs to Al-Masih, Allah has recreated him. The old no longer exists and the new has begun.
18
All this is from Allah, who reconciled us with himself through Al-Masih and gave us the service of reconciliation.
19
That is, Allah was reconciling the universe with himself by Al-Masih. He was not punishing them for their sins. And he has delegated to us the message of reconciliation.
20
So we are ambassadors of Al-Masih. It is as if Allah were urging you through us. We urge you in the name of Al-Masih to be reconciled with Allah.
21
Allah has made the sinless one a carrier of sins as a ransom for us, so that by our belonging to him, we can carry the righteousness from Allah.
