First Corinthians

  Chapter 1   »

1
From Paul, called by the will of Allah as a messenger of Isa Al-Masih, and from the brother Sosthenes.
2
To the jama'a of chosen people of Allah in the city of Corinth, whom Allah purified to make them holy by their belonging to Al-Masih Isa. They are called to be holy along with everyone in every place who prays dua' to Allah in the name of our mawla Isa Al-Masih, mawla to us and to them.
3
Grace and peace be upon you from our Rabb Al-Malik Al-Rahman, and from our mawla Isa Al-Masih.
4
I praise and thank Allah always for you because of the grace of Allah that is given to you by your belonging to Al-Masih Isa.
5
He is your Mughni in everything, in all words and all knowledge,
6
since the shahada of Al-Masih was confirmed in you.
7
So you are not lacking any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our mawla Isa Al-Masih.
8
He will establish you until the end so you can be without blame on the day of the coming of our mawla Isa Al-Masih.
9
Allah Al-Ameen has called you to share with his beloved Amir, our mawla Isa Al-Masih.
10
Brother believers, I urge you in the name of our mawla Isa Al-Masih to agree together without division, united in mind and opinion.
11
The family of Chloe has informed me that there are disagreements among you, my brothers.
12
Every one of you says: "I am for Paul," or "I am for Apollos," or "I am for Peter," or "I am for Al-Masih."
13
Has Al-Masih become divided? Did Paul die by crucifixion as a ransom for you? Or were you washed with the ghusl of faith in the name of Paul?
14
I praise and thank Allah that I did not immerse anyone with the ghusl of faith except Crispus and Gaius.
15
Then no one can claim that you were washed in my name.
16
I immersed the household of Stephanus also, but I do not remember anyone else.
17
For Al-Masih did not send me to wash people with the ghusl of faith, but to spread the good news, not with the wisdom of words, so as not to annul the validity of the cross of Al-Masih.
18
The people who are being destroyed consider the message of the cross of Al-Masih to be jahil. But we who are being saved consider it the power of mercy from Allah.
19
This is in confirmation of what Allah said in the kitab: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and frustrate the understanding of those who understand."
20
Where is the wise person? Where is the faqih? Where is the debater of this time? Did Allah not make the wisdom of this world foolishness?
21
Allah predestined by his wisdom that the people of this world would not know him by their wisdom. So his rida was to save all those who trust in him through the good news that people consider foolishness.
22
Al-Yahud ask for ayat, and Greeks sing the praises of wisdom.
23
But we call out about Al-Masih and his cross. This is an obstacle to Al-Yahud and foolishness to the nations of the polytheists.
24
But those Allah has chosen among Al-Yahud and the Greeks have Al-Masih, the power and wisdom of Allah.
25
What people consider foolishness with Allah is wiser than the wisdom of people. And what they consider weakness with Allah is stronger than the strength of people.
26
Brothers, look to yourselves. Allah did not chose many people among you who were wise with the wisdom of people. Nor did he chose many strong or noble people.
27
But Allah chose what was foolish in this world to make the wise embarrassed. Allah chose what was weak in this world to make the strong embarrassed.
28
And Allah chose what was humble, despised, and considered unimportant in this world to annul those who are considered important.
29
Thus no one can boast before Allah.
30
Allah made you belong to Al-Masih Isa, who became wisdom, righteousness, purity, and ransom for us from Allah.
31
As it is written in the kitab of Allah: "The person who boasts should boast in Allah."
