First Corinthians

«   Chapter 3   »

1
Brothers, I was not able to speak to you as spiritual people, but as people of this world, like children in your belonging to Al-Masih.
2
I gave you milk, not food, because you were unable to eat food. You still cannot,
3
since you are still of this world. If there is envy and strife among you, is not that because you are still of this world and walk the same way the rest of the people walk?
4
If one of you says: "I am for Paul," or "I am for Apollo," is that not because you like the rest of the people?
5
Who is Apollos? Who is Paul? Are they not two servants by whom you were guided? Allah is Al-Hadi Al-Rasheed and the Giver of Gifts.
6
I planted and Apollo irrigated, but Allah is the one who causes growth.
7
Neither the sower nor the irrigator is important, because Allah is the one who causes growth.
8
The sower and the irrigator are both one in purpose, and their reward will be according to their work.
9
We are workers together for the sake of Allah, and you are the field and building of Allah.
10
I laid a foundation for your trust according to the grace given to me by Allah. I was like a skilled architect. Now another person is building on that foundation. Let the one who builds be careful how he builds.
11
No one can lay a foundation besides the only foundation that was previously laid, which is Isa Al-Masih.
12
If anyone builds on this foundation a building of gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay or straw,
13
the work of each person will be made clear when it is exposed on Yawm Al-Din. The fire of that day will reveal it and test the value of the work of each one by himself.
14
If his work (what he has built) remains, he will receive his reward.
15
If his work is burned up, he will lose the reward, but he will be saved like a person fleeing out of a fire.
16
Do you not know that you are the house of Allah, and Ruh Allah lives in you?
17
If anyone corrupts the house of Allah, Allah will destroy him, since the house of Allah is holy, and you are that house.
18
Do not deceive yourselves! If anyone imagines that he is wise in this world, let him become foolish so he would really become wise.
19
The wisdom of this world is foolishness to Allah, as it is written in his kitab: "He catches the wise in their deceptiveness."
20
Also, "Allah is all-knowing of the thoughts of the wise. They are worthless."
21
So no one should boast of people, because you have everything,
22
whether Paul, Apollos, Peter, this world, life, death, the present, or the future. You have everything,
23
Al-Masih has you, and Allah has Al-Masih.
