First Corinthians

«   Chapter 4   »

1
Let people consider us servants of Al-Masih and agents of the secrets of Allah.
2
Agents must be faithful.
3
I do not pay attention to your judgment of me or to the judgment of any human court. I do not even judge myself.
4
I do not feel guilty about anything, but this does not make me innocent. My mawla is Al-Hakam.
5
So don't judge anything before that hour when our mawla comes as judge to shed light on what is covered in the hiddenness of darkness. He will show the motives of the hearts and give each one his portion of the rida of Allah.
6
Brothers, I have made a proverb of these matters to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so you can learn from us not to go above what is written in the kitab. So do not boast over one another.
7
Who distinguishes you from other people? What do you have besides the gift of Allah to you? If you received it from Allah, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
8
You are full and rich. You have become kings without us! If only you really had reigned, so that we could reign with you!
9
It seems that Allah has made us messengers on the last row of the procession as if we are condemned to execution on the stage of the universe, a spectacle before both angels and people together.
10
We are fools for the sake of Al-Masih, but you are intelligent in Al-Masih! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, but we are despised!
11
We are still hungry, thirsty, and naked, exposed to violence, and homeless.
12
We are weary because we live by working with our hands. We pray dua' for baraka for those who curse us. We bear our persecutors with patience.
13
We also deal well with those who lie about us. Until this point, we have become to some extent the scum of humanity, the worst of the things of this world.
14
I do not write you these things to make you feel embarrassed, but to warn you, because you are like my beloved children.
15
If you had ten thousand who teach you about Al-Masih, you must know that your fathers are few. I took the role of your father in your belonging to Al-Masih Isa through the good news.
16
So I urge you then to be mentored by me.
17
Therefore I sent Timothy to you. He is like my beloved and faithful son in our mawla. He will remind you of my life in belonging to Al-Masih Isa. This is what I teach in all the jama'as of chosen people, wherever they are.
18
Some of you have become arrogant from pride, as if I will not come to you.
19
But I am coming to you soon inshallah, not to look at the words of those arrogant people, but their strength.
20
The kingdom of Allah is not words but strength.
21
What do you want? For me to come to you with a stick, or with love and a spirit of meekness?
