First Corinthians
« Chapter 5 »
1
2
And you are puffed up with pride! Should you not be sad and expel the one who commits this deed from your jama'a?
3
I have condemned the one who does this deed, though I am absent in body, because I am present with you in Al-Ruh.
4
When you meet in the name of our mawla Isa,
5
deliver this person to Al-Shaitan so that his human nature would perish and his spirit would be saved on the day our mawla Isa comes.
6
You should not boast. Do you not know that a little yeast make all the dough rise?
7
Be pure from the old yeast, so that you will become new dough. You are the pure bread of the Eid of Unleavened Bread, and Al-Masih has been sacrificed. He is the lamb of ransom for the Eid of Pardon.
8
So let us celebrate the Eid, not with bread yeasted with old yeast, nor with wrong and evil. Rather, let our bread be yeast-free, the bread of sincerity and truth.
9
I wrote to you in my previous letter not to have dealings with adulterers.
10
I did not mean the adulterers of this world, the envious, the cheaters, and the idol worshippers. Otherwise, you would have to exit this world.
11
I meant to avoid one who is considered a brother believer but practices adultery, envy, idol worship, cursing, drunkenness, or rape. Do not sit at a dining table with people like them.
12
What is my business condemning those outside the jama'a? But should you not condemn those inside the jama'a?
13
Allah condemns those outside the jama'a. As for you, make that evil person disappear from among you.
