Revelation

«   Chapter 13   »

1
Then I saw a wild animal coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads. On its ten horns were crowns, and on its heads were names that indicated its disbelief and blasphemy.
2
The wild beast was like a leopard, its feet were like the claws of a bear, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion. The dragon had given it his power, his throne, and his great authority.
3
It seemed that one of its heads had been killed and died, but then it was healed of that mortal wound. The people of this world were amazed at the wild beast and followed it.
4
They bowed down to the dragon, because he gave his authority to the wild beast. And they bowed down to the wild beast, saying: "Who is like the wild beast? Who can war against it?"
5
He was given a mouth for pride, disbelief, and blasphemy, and he was permitted to have sovereignty for a period of forty-two months.
6
His mouth publicly spewed out disbelief in Allah, his name, and his dwelling among the inhabitants of the heavens.
7
He was permitted to wage war against the holy believers and conquer them. He was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
8
All the people of this world whose names have not been written since the creation of the universe in the book of life, which is owned by the sacrificed lamb, will bow down to the wild beast.
9
Let everyone who has an ear hear!
10
The person whose destiny is to be a captive will go into captivity. The person whose destiny is death by the sword will be killed by the sword. In this, the patience and trust of the holy people is made clear.
11
Then I saw another wild beast coming from the earth. He had two horns, like the two horns of a lamb, and he spoke like the dragon.
12
He works with the authority of the first wild beast in front of him, and he makes the earth and its inhabitants bow down to the first beast who was healed of his mortal wound.
13
He does great ayat. He even makes a flame of fire come down from the sky to the earth in the sight of people.
14
He misled the inhabitants of the earth by the ayat that he was permitted to do in front of the wild beast. He orders the inhabitants of the earth to make an idol of the wild beast who was killed by the sword and then made alive.
15
He was permitted to give a spirit to the idol of the wild beast so that the idol could speak, and to kill everyone who does not bow down to the idol of the wild beast.
16
He was also permitted to compel all people, young and old, rich and poor, free and slaves, to have a mark inscribed on their right hands or their foreheads.
17
No one can buy or sell besides those who have the mark of the wild beast inscribed on them. The mark is his name or the number of his name.
18
This matter requires wisdom. Let the person who understands calculate the number of the wild beast, since it is the number of a person. It is six hundred sixty-six.
