« Chapter 20 »

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the Abyss and a huge chain in his hand.
ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ مَلَاكًا نَازِلًا مِنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ مَاسِكًا مِفْتَاحَ الْهَاوِيَةِ وَسِلْسِلَةً ضَخْمَةً بِيَدِهِ،

Then he grabbed the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is Iblis and Al-Shaitan, and bound him for a thousand years.
ثُمَّ قَبَضَ عَلَى التِّنِّينِ، ذَلِكَ الثُّعْبَانَ الْقَدِيمَ، اَلَّذِي هُوَ إِبْلِيسُ وَالشَّيْطَانُ، وَقَيَّدَهُ مُدَّةَ أَلْفِ سَنَةٍ،

He threw him in the Abyss, and closed it on him. He sealed it above him so that he could not mislead the nations any more until the end of the thousand years. After that, he will be set free for a little while.
وَأَلْقَاهُ فِي الْهَاوِيَةِ، وَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَخَتَمَهَا فَوْقَهُ لِئَلَّا يُضَلِّلَ الْأُمَمَ فِيمَا بَعْدُ حَتَّى نِهَايَةِ أَلْفِ سَنَةٍ، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يُفْرِجُ عَنْهُ لِفَتْرَةٍ قَصِيرَةٍ.

Then I saw thrones. The people sitting on them had been appointed to rule. And I saw the souls who had been beheaded for the sake of their shahada to Isa and for the sake of the word of Allah. They had not bowed down to the wild beast or to his idol, and had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They had been resurrected alive and became kings with Al-Masih for a thousand years.
ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ عُرُوشًا وَالْجَالِسِينَ عَلَيْهَا الَّذِينَ تُوَلَّوُا الْحُكْمَ، وَرَأَيْتُ نُفُوسَ الَّذِينَ ضُرِبَتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ شَهَادَتِهِمْ لِعِيسَى وَفِي سَبِيلِ كَلِمَةِ اللهِ، وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْجُدُوا لِلْوَحْشِ وَلَا لِصَنَمِهِ وَلَمْ يَقْبَلُوا الْعَلَامَةَ عَلَى جَبِينِهِمْ أَوْ يَدِهِمْ، وَقَدْ بُعِثُوا أَحْيَاءً وَأَصْبَحُوا مُلُوكًا مَعَ الْمَسِيحِ مُدَّةَ أَلْفِ سَنَةٍ.

The rest of the dead will not be resurrected alive until the thousand years are finished. This is the first resurrection of the dead.
أَمَّا بَقِيَّةُ الْأَمْوَاتِ فَلَنْ يُبْعَثُوا أَحْيَاءً حَتَّى تَنْتَهِيَ الْأَلْفُ سَنَةٍ، وَهَذَا هُوَ بَعْثُ الْأَمْوَاتِ الْأَوَّلُ.

Those who win a portion in the first resurrection are blessed and holy. The second death will not have any authority over them. They will be faithful slaves with Allah and with Al-Masih, and will reign as kings with him for a thousand years.
مُبَارَكٌ مُقَدَّسٌ مَنْ فَازَ بِنَصِيبٍ فِي الْبَعْثِ الْأَوَّلِ، فَلَنْ يَكُونَ لِلْمَوْتِ الثَّانِي عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ، بَلْ يَكُونُ مِنَ الْعُبَّادِ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ عِنْدَ اللهِ وَعِنْدَ الْمَسِيحِ وَيَحْكُمُ مَلِكًا مَعَهُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ.

When the thousand years are finished, Al-Shaitan will be released from his prison.
وَعِنْدَ انْتِهَاءِ الْأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ، يُطْلَقُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ سِجْنِهِ،

He will go out to mislead the nations in the four regions of the earth, that is, in Gog and Magog. He will gather them for war. They will be as many as the sand on the seashore.
وَيَخْرُجُ لِيُضَلِّلَ الْأُمَمَ فِي أَنْحَاءِ الْأَرْضِ الْأَرْبَعِ، أَيْ فِي «جُوجَ وَمَاجُوجَ»، وَيَجْمَعَهُمْ لِلْحَرْبِ، وَعَدَدُهُمْ كَرَمْلِ الْبَحْرِ،

They will march all over the earth and surround the camp of the holy people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven will come down and consume them.
فَيَزْحَفُونَ عَلَى كُلِّ الْأَرْضِ وَيُحِيطُونَ بِمُعَسْكَرِ الْمُقَدَّسِينَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ الْحَبِيبَةِ لَكِنْ تَنْزِلُ نَارٌ مِنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَتَلْتَهِمُهُمْ،

Iblis who led them astray will be thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the wild beast and the dajjal prophet are, and they will be tortured night and day forever and ever.
وَيُلْقَى إِبْلِيسُ الَّذِي ضَلَّلَهُمْ فِي بُحَيْرَةِ النَّارِ وَالْكِبْرِيتِ حَيْثُ الْوَحْشُ وَالنَّبِيُّ الدَّجَّالُ وَيَتَعَذَّبُونَ لَيْلَ نَهَارَ إِلَى أَبَدِ الْآبِدِينَ.

Then I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The heavens and the earth had fled from his face, and there was no trace of them.
ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ عَرْشًا كَبِيرًا أَبْيَضَ وَالْجَالِسَ عَلَيْهِ. قَدْ هَرَبَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ مِنْ وَجْهِهِ وَلَمْ يَبْقَ لَهُمَا أَثَرٌ.

Then I saw the dead, old and young, standing in front of the throne, and scrolls were opened. Another scroll was opened, the scroll of life, and the dead were judged according to their deeds that were written in the scrolls.
ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ الْأَمْوَاتَ كِبَارًا وَصِغَارًا وَاقِفِينَ أَمَامَ الْعَرْشِ، وَانْفَتَحَتْ أَسْفَارٌ وَانْفَتَحَ سِفْرٌ آخَرُ وَهُوَ سِفْرُ الْحَيَاةِ، فَحُوكِمَ الْأَمْوَاتُ حَسَبَ أَعْمَالِهِمِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ فِي الْأَسْفَارِ.

The sea sent out the dead who were in it, death and the grave sent out the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to what his hands had done.
وَأَخْرَجَ الْبَحْرُ الْأَمْوَاتَ الَّذِينَ فِيهِ، وَأَخْرَجَ الْمَوْتُ وَالْقَبْرُ الْأَمْوَاتَ الَّذِينَ فِيهِمَا، فَحُوكِمَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ حَسْبَمَا صَنَعَتْ يَدَاهُ.

Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
ثُمَّ أُلْقِيَ الْمَوْتُ وَالْقَبْرُ فِي بُحَيْرَةِ النَّارِ، وَبُحَيْرَةُ النَّارِ هِيَ الْمَوْتُ الثَّانِي.

Everyone whose name was not registered in the scroll of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
وَكُلُّ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنِ اسْمُهُ مُسَجَّلًا فِي سِفْرِ الْحَيَاةِ أُلْقِيَ فِي بُحَيْرَةِ النَّارِ.
