Revelation

«   Chapter 6   »

1
Then I looked when the lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder: "Come!"
2
And I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown. He went out to conquer, and conquered.
3
When the lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living being say: "Come!"
4
A fire-red horse went out, and its rider was allowed to steal peace from all people, so that they would slaughter each other. He was also given a large sword.
5
When the lamb opened the third seal, I heard the voice of the third living being saying: "Come!" I looked and there came a black horse, whose rider held a scale in his hand.
6
I hear a voice in the middle of the four living beings, saying, "A handful of wheat for a dinar, and three handfuls of barley for a dinar. Don't harm the fruit of the olive trees, or the vines!"
7
When the lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living being, saying: "Come!"
8
I looked, and there was a pale horse. The name of its rider was Death, and the Grave was following him. They were given authority over a quarter of the inhabitants of the earth, to kill them with the sword, hunger, the plague, and wild animals of the earth.
9
When the lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw the souls who had been martyred by being slaughtered for the sake of the word of Allah and because of the shahada that they gave.
10
They shouted with a loud voice, saying: "Rabb Al-Alamin, Al-Qudus Al-Haqq, how long will you not condemn and take revenge on the inhabitants of the earth who shed our blood?"
11
Each one of them was given a white robe. They were told to rest for a while until the completion of the number of their brothers and fellow slaves of Allah who would fall as martyrs like them.
12
Then I looked as the lamb opened the sixth seal. There was a strong earthquake, the sun blackened like a Bedouin tent, and the moon became blood red.
13
The stars of the sky fell to the earth like a fig tree drops its fruit before it is ripe if a stormy wind shakes it.
14
The sky was folded like a person would fold a manuscript. Every mountain and island was moved from its place.
15
The kings, upper class people, leaders, the rich and powerful, and every slave or free person hid in caves and rocks of the mountains.
16
They said to the mountains and rocks: "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne, and from the anger of the lamb.
17
The great day of their anger has come, and who is the one who is strong enough to stand?"
