«   Chapter 12   »

1
Therefore, brothers, I urge you by the mercy of Allah to deliver your bodies to him as a pleasing, holy, living offering. This is true worship.
2
Do not walk on the path of this world, mentored by it, but be changed by renewing your minds so that you can know the perfect, pleasing, good will of Allah.
3
I tell every one of you by the grace given to me from Allah: Do not give yourselves more importance than you deserve. Think rightly with the amount of trust that Allah has given you.
4
The members of the body are many. Each one has a different function.
5
So we who trust are many, but we are one body in Al-Masih and members of each other.
6
We have gifts according to what Allah gave us by his grace: If a believer's gift is prophecy, he must use it according to his trust.
7
If his gift is service, he must use it in his service. If his gift is teaching, he must use it in his teaching.
8
If his gift is encouragement, let him use it in his encouragement. If his gift is giving, let him give with simplicity and generosity. If his gift is leadership, let him work hard in it. If his gift is mercy, let him show compassion cheerfully.
9
Be sincere in your love. Hate evil. Hold tight to good.
10
Persist in your brotherly love to one another. Prefer each other in honor.
11
Do not be lazy, but work hard for the sake of our mawla. Be enthusiastic in your spirits.
12
Rejoice since you have a sure hope. Be patient in hardship. Persist in dua' prayer.
13
Donate to the needs of holy people. Be hospitable to strangers.
14
Pray a dua' of baraka on those who persecute you. Pray a dua' and do not curse them.
15
Rejoice with others who are rejoicing. Cry with those who are crying.
16
Live harmoniously among yourselves. Do not be proud, but accompany the humble. Do not imagine that you are wise.
17
Do not return evil for evil. Do what is good and honor everyone.
18
For your part, be at peace with everyone as much as possible.
19
Beloved ones, do not take revenge, but leave that to the wrath of Allah, in confirmation to what Rabb Al-Alamin wrote in the kitab: "I am Allah Al-Muntaqim Al-Adl. I will repay."
20
Rather: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. By doing this you will make a pile of burning coals on his head."
21
Do not let evil defeat you. Rather, defeat evil with good.
