«   Chapter 14   »

1
Accept the weak in faith, but do not discuss their opinions.
2
Some people believe that all foods are halal to eat. Weak people eat only vegetables.
3
The one who considers all foods halal must not despise the one who does not eat all foods. And the one who does not eat all foods must not condemn the one who considers all foods halal, because Allah has accepted him.
4
Who are you to condemn the servant of someone else? The master of that servant is the one who judges him for righteousness or failure, and his mawla will make him righteous, since he is able to do that.
5
Some distinguish between one day and another, while others consider that all days are equal. Everyone should be convinced of his own opinion.
6
The one who prefers one day over another prefers it to honor his mawla. The one who eats all foods eats them to honor his mawla, because he praises and thanks Allah.
7
None of us lives to please himself, and none of us dies to please himself.
8
If we live, we live to obtain the rida of our mawla. And if we die, we die to obtain the rida of our mawla. So whether we live or die, we belong to our mawla.
9
That is why Al-Masih died and was resurrected alive: to be the master of the dead and the living.
10
As for you, why do you condemn your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? We will all stand in front of the judgment seat of Allah.
11
This confirms the saying of Allah in the kitab: "I am Allah Al-Hayy and this is a predestined matter: Every knee will bow in front of me, and every tongue will testify that I am Allah."
12
So everyone will give an accounting to Allah.
13
So do not condemn each other anymore, but judge this way: Let no one be an obstacle to or hinder his brother.
14
Since I belong to our mawla Isa, I am sure that nothing is inherently unclean, except to the one who considers it unclean.
15
If you make your brother sad because of your food, you are not walking in the path of love any more. Do not destroy someone for whom Al-Masih died as a ransom for the sake of food!
16
Do not open a door for words of evil against your goodness.
17
The kingdom of Allah is not a matter of food and drink. It is righteousness and peace and joy proceeding from the holy Ruh Allah.
18
Whoever serves Al-Masih in this way obtains the rida of Allah and is affirmed by people.
19
So we follow the path leading to peace and strengthening each other.
20
Do not destroy the work of Allah because of food! All foods are pure, but it is bad for you to make your food an obstacle to others.
21
It is good for you not to eat meat or drink wine or anything else if it is an obstacle to your brother.
22
Let your conviction be between you and your Rabb. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself for what he considers halal.
23
If someone is in doubt about what he eats, condemnation will fall on him, because he eats without having the conviction of trust that eating it is halal. Anything that does not proceed from trust is sin.
