Romans
« Chapter 9 »
1
I speak the truth in Al-Masih and I do not lie. My conscience is a witness for me in holy Ruh Allah:
2
My grief is deep and I have continuous pain in my heart.
3
I wish I could be cursed and excluded from Al-Masih, if that would be a way for my brothers and my people to have guidance.
4
They are Bani Israil, preferred above the rest of mankind. Allah caused his splendor to appear to them and made a covenant with them. He revealed to them the Tawrat, in which he detailed regulations for worship and the promises of Allah.
6
This does not mean that the word of Allah has not been fulfilled. Bani Israil are not all preferred Bani Israil.
8
In other words, not all of the bodily iyal are iyal Allah. Allah considered the iyal of the promise to be the true seed of Ibrahim.
10
Not only that, but when Rebecca the wife of our father Ishaq was pregnant,
11
before the twins were born, they had not done anything good or evil - so that the will of Allah would remain by choice, according to calling and not deeds -
12
she was told: "The older will serve the younger."
13
As Allah revealed in the kitab: "I loved Yacoub and and hated Al-Eis."
14
What can we say, then? Is Allah unjust? May Allah forbid it!
15
Allah spoke to Musa and said: "I will have mercy on those I have mercy on, and I will have compassion on those I have compassion on."
16
So, the matter does not depend on human will or effort, but on the mercy of Allah.
18
So Allah has mercy on whoever he wills, and he hardens the heart of whoever he wills.
19
Some of you will object to me, saying: "Why does Allah condemn us? Who can resist his will?"
21
Doesn't the potter have the right to make a container for exalted use and another one for menial use, though they are both from the same block of clay?
22
What if Allah wanted to show his anger and display his power when he gives a delay, according to his extreme patience, to those who are the objects of his anger, whom he prepared for destruction?
23
He purposes to display the riches of his splendor to those he had mercy on, and he prepared them beforehand for his splendor.
24
This includes us who have been called to him, not only from among Al-Yahud but also from among the nations of the polytheists as well.
27
As Isaiah called out in the kitab about Bani Israil: "Even if Bani Israil increase like the sand of the sea, only a small remainder of them will be saved.
30
What can we say, then? The nations of the polytheists who did not seek for righteousness have gotten it (the righteousness according to trust).
31
But Bani Israil wought for the righteousness of the sharia, and did not get it.
32
Why? Because they tried to get righteousness according to deeds and not according to trust. So they stumbled on the obstacle stone.
